SOURCE: blue tinting appearing on the right side of screen on vpl-es1 projector

A warning in the manual was given as to be carefull when using this projector with games as some parts of the screen will not move, just like if you watch Tv on it and there is a channel logo in one corner that doesn't move! It burns the display like it would on a pc monitor if no screen saver set. This is not a problem you can fix, that is perminant damage to the lcd in the projector!! S Platt

SOURCE: Sony VPL-CX6 Projector turns itself off. No image projected.

does the "lamp/cover"-led light up? i had the same thing happening, the lamp either broke or is about to break and the projektor won't turn it on again to protect itself. if its very urgent, open the projector pull the lamp out and put it in again, it might work for 1 or 2 more times, but it is very likely to explode (usually not breaking the projector but for sure not good for it).

good luck!

SOURCE: Sony VPL-ES1 projector

no thats not the solution, various vpl projectors have that problem, the red light eventually turns on after a maximum of 4-5 days... very annoying and noone understands what crazy semiconductor (thats the one causing the problem) sony put it their devices... it costs about $30 (22 €) but i have no clue where and how to replace it, didnt look closer at it so far...

I have a projector (SONY VPL-ES1) and the bulb stopped working. Took the bulb out, and not sure if it's blown or not. I checked online, to see if anyone else had similar problems, and sure enough they...

usually the projector powers and cools down. if you restart it it will open the cover, not projecting anything and after 10 seconds it will close again. this happens if the lamp is shortly before the end of the measured lifetime (no fixed hours) to protect the projector. usually if you take it out once or twice it will work for 1 or 2 more times but the bulb is very likely to explode (not destroying the projector but not good anyways)

Greenish yellowish tint on the tv

I have been advised that the color/light engine of the TV fails often and will typically create a green tint on this unit. I have one on order to get a replacement installed. BTW, it is not "user serviceable" and (for me) will require moving the TV to the repair shop for the change-out.
