Bosch 11316EVS demolition Hammer soft start not working. Starts at full speed and does not impact until slowed down.

Variable speed control module has failed, however you can still use the tool. Hammering action will improve with a good cleaning of internal parts and apply new grease. Hammering action is caused by air/vacuum cushion between drive piston and driven piston which inturn hits a third piston that actually impacts the bit. If third piston is worn, chipped and lodged with debris, there will be light hammering action. After use, store the hammer with the nose pointing down so that the driven piston will slide to end of cylinder and ready for next use.

It wont hammer when I put a small or large amount of pressure on the hammer. It hammer only a short while when I start the mammer (about 1 second) and the same when I release the button.

Lack of hammering action usually indicates a lack of lubrication or worn piston orings. This hammer as well as many other makita hammers work with a piston moving forward and back within a cylinder. This piston moves a second piston within the cylinder with a pocket of air (pressure and vacuum). If there is a lack of lubrication or orings are worn, you will not get a good hammering action /force out of the second piston. Time for good cleaning and apply factory lube. I have a bosch 24v gbh vre drill ive changed the brushs the drill has no hammer action your help whould be very helpfull many thanks andy

Check that the ramped discs and the selector lever for the hammer action are assembled correctly. The lever should push the chuck shaft clear of the hammer action discs or release the shaft so that it can move inwards to allow the ramps to ride up each other.

Demolition tool or breaker

The shaft from the motor to the drive gear is likely not working the action of the hammer. There is a gear which spins the gears to achieve the hammer action, suspect the gear is either stripped, broken or both.

Hammer Drills differnces

Hammer Drills combine the rotation of a regular drill with a pounding action. These two actions enable the hammer drill to bore holes in masonry quickly without burning the bit.
