I put cobra strights on my bike and now its poping through the pipes

it will always POP,, because you have no more back pressure and hot exhaust gases come out quicker and burn in your exhaust pipe.

2001 Honda VT 1100 C2 Shadow Sabre Running Lean

I have a 2007 Honda Shadow Sabre VT1100 and I also put after market pipes on it from Vance and Hines. I also have to keep it choked when first starting and sometimes even hold the throttle a bit while it warms up. The bike has two carburetors and the best solution I have found by lots of asking around of mechanics and bike folk is to get it rejetted through Dyno Jet. It is meant for bikes with after market exhausts and much less back pressure from the lack of those stiffling baffles in the stock pipes. I have also noticed the power loss in the middle torque range and backfiring because of the bike running in a lean condition. The Dyno Jet website is a good place to find the correct set and corresponding part number, but then I suggest finding a cheap place online so you avoid retail price :) Hope this helps. Oh, and don't forget to buy two kits...we have two carburators in our bikes.

I have a 1997 vt1100 american classic, does all the vt 1100 use the same batterys.

If the american classic is the ACE model, 1995 - 2000 is the same and 2001 -2007 is the same, there are officially 18 different vt1100 models, the shadow spirit 1985 - 1997 is the same, 1998 - 2000 are the same and 2001 - 2007 are the same.

I'm replacing exhuast pipes on my 2004 honda sabre vt100c2. What are the torque specs for the bolts going into the cyclinder?

I always just do them by hand but not more than say 20 ft lb as per my book

I have a 04 1100 sabre also. I installed cobra slash cuts. I had alot of popping on decel. Then installed some thunder monster baffles to regain some of the backpressure and now I have no decel popping. Also have K/N also with a jet kit. I installed the 175 and the 170 jts as per instructions and my milage was about 150 when you hit reserve. I then moved the needle up one notch and the milage went to abot 110 at reserve. About 3.1 gallons. Today I am rejetting it back to specs and installing the 165 and the 170 jets. If your not aware of this yet the carbs do use differnt size jets, even stock. i'l let you know how this works.
