It is presumed that you are getting the following error message:
"Bootmgr is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

The error generally pops up when the boot sector is damaged or missing. To troubleshoot the issue, you can refer to the instructions mentioned on the following link:

Hard drive

When you turn on the computer, go into the bios. This is done by pressing either the F1 or DEL key. It's usually one of them. It varies by manufacturer. Once in the bios make sure your hard drive is listed. If it's not listed it either came loose or is defective. If it is listed, see if there's an option to test the hard drive. What it sounds like is that the hard drive became corrupted. Or at least the section with the bootmgr. Here's an article on ways to fix it http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/bootmgr-is-missing.htm. hope it helps.

This sounds like a hard drive failure, try your recovery disc if available, if no change! have the hardware checked for possible replacement.
