Question about Dual XD-7500 CD Player

1 Answer

Freak Out!!! purchased vehicle with this radio installed, was working fine, then one day just went nuts. when i push the "open" button, the faceplate starts to open then closes, open and close, open and close. It will do this for about 5 mins if left alone, if i hold power button it stops and powers off. as long as i dont push the open button, it's ok, plays radio just cant see display. i can play cds also by press the eject button, it opens and allows me to insert cd and then plays fine, just cant see display. Any ideas?

Same problem, traced to the ribbon cable that goes to the faceplate. Seems pretty common, no replacements available. Junk. Rather expensive junk at that.

How do i open disc drive door

If the door's button (faceplate's button) is not working, then you can use a paper clip. There is a small hole somewhere on the faceplate, and you can insert the paper clip in the hole. Push the paper clip. Actually there is a small button in the hole, and if you push it, the faceplate will be opened.

Need to reset the code for a kenwood kdc-mpv7019

If You Have The Remote Here Is Your Solution.

1) Turn on the car.
2) The faceplate rotates out and the CODE - - - - prompt appears.
3) Press >>| and Auto keys simultaneously on the faceplate and hold for 4 seconds. (If the faceplate rotates back into the console push on the upper left top edge of the faceplate and it will flip back around. Press the Eject button and then try it again.)
4) The screen will still say CODE, but the - - - - will disappear! When this happens press the 5 key on the remote twice and it enters a K on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>| key on the faceplate.
5) Press the 2 key on the remote three times and it enters a C on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>| key on the faceplate.
6) Press the 2 key on the remote once and it enters an A on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>| key on the faceplate.
7) Press the 7 key on the remote twice and it enters an R on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>| key on the faceplate.
8) The radio goes into All Off mode and you are set! Hit the SRC button on the faceplate to select CD, Radio, etc

Pioneer DEH 1700 not working now

I'm guessing that you wired the 2 units together including the speakers? the 2 units may be of different potentials and can't be wired together like that...they would need diodes or a relay to isolate one from another.. first you need to see if you toasted each of these by separating the wiring and trying them separately...just a thought

Kenwood KDC-519 Faceplate Problem

Detach the faceplate and look at the electrical contacts on the back of it for damage/dirt - you can spray it with electrical contact cleaner. Do the same to the contacts on the head unit - it sounds to me like one or more of them are a bit loose or otherwise not working properly.
