The sensors should be approximately 6 inches above the floor and must be pointed at one another to work. Each sensor has a solid white wire and a white wire with a black tracer. The white wires connect to terminal 2 and the wires with the black tracer go to terminal 3. The wires from the wall control connect to terminals 1 and 2. Solid white to 2 and white with red tracer to terminal 1.

You cannot bypass the sensors but you can try reversing their position so that the sun isn't hitting the receiving unit. You can also move them back from the door or use something like the tube inside a roll of toilet tissue to shade the lens.

My garage door lurches while it is opening

If the alignment is true and rollers move with ease, you should not have any jerking motion. Unlock the door catch from the pulley line of the motor. The door should be FREE to lift by hand. With the door Free of the motor/line-pulley, lift by hand. Do so a number of times and see if it binds or is free to move up and down easily. If it binds, the alignment is off and needs adjustment. If it moves quite well, then the problem can be the door sensors. These are the two face to face sensing devices at the bottom of the metal guides on both sides. These sensors need to be horizontal and fixed to allow Line Of Site to operate correctly. Check both Alignments, Rails and Sensors.

The garage door will open with a single press of the button but will not close the same way. It will start to close - then reverse - unless I hold the botton down for the entire closing motion.

Check the door sensors. They must be pointed at one another and the small light on each one must be lit and not flickering. Tweak them if necessary. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have either bad sensors or the wiring to them.

How can I disconnect the motion detector on the Chamberlain 3/4 HPS Whisper Drive Plus Belt Drive Garage Door Opener with EverCharge

There is a button on the side of the wall-mounted remote. It has a pic of light bulb next to it. Press it once - the motion sensor is on and the lights will be on once it senses the motion; press it again and the motion sensor will be off.

My Chamberlian Whisper Drive 1/2 Hp opener has an issue. My motion sensor back light blinks and the factory supplied remote does not work now. Help.

You wall control is in lock mode sounds like press and hold the lock button for 3 to 4 seconds that should take care of that problem.

Alleejr your problem is not the same and ill need little more info. Where is the red light on your wall control? If its on the way up its not your sensors at all. Is your spring broke?
