Could be the motor brushes, check for black powder on motor. could be a siezed motor, try turn it manually by hand.

I have been informed by the parts supplier that it is a brushless motor, AND the motor is working for washing, but not for spinning..

Sorry, previous comment should read - The motor turns freely and the pump is not blocked and is working correctly.

I personally suspect either an electronic control board fault (I am going to try a replacement), a wiring connection fault to the motor, or an electrical fault in the motor (I am going to try a replacement of those too), ALSO the problem is intermittent.

If cutter disk turns freely and motor hums, then motor winding has gone bad.
The humming sound means motor is overheating and will stop humming.

Dryer motor hums but does not turn when start button is pushed

If you hear the motor humming and not starting at all it most likely has a severe friction problem with the drum or motor. It could possibly have some type of garment jamming the blower wheel preventing the motor from starting too.

Open the dryer door and manually rotate the dryer drum counter clockwise (CCW). It should take very little effort to rotate the drum. If it's hard to rotate that could explain why the motor hums instead of starting up. If it turns freely, shut the door and see if will start. If it still hums and not start it may have bad motor or a low voltage supply to the motor.

GE electric dryer not working

Hi,
It sounds like your motor is failing. You went to turn it on and it hummed... The motor got hot and triggered the safety shut off. When it cools you may be able to get it to hum again. But you will need to replace the motor.
Let me know if I can help you further.

Whirlpool LER 6620 heats, but does not tumble.

if the dryer heats the motor should be good. if it hums its either runing or the hum is a stall noise . if belt is in tact then if motor were going so would the drum . so i think the motor isn't going just humming and the heat sw in the motor is stuck closed with lint and you need to replace the motor .. take the belt off and turn motor if it turns free . the blow it out good and reinstall belt and try again ..mm

Dryer motor just hums

Sounds like the belt has been stretched and is not letting the motor turn the drum. If the motor is not turning at all then your motor is burnt out and needs ot be replaced

The pump lost vaccum, now the motor shut off and pump only hums.

Prime the pump. If it still just hums, try to turn the impeller. If the impeller is not jammed, and the motor hums or it doesn't start at all, the motor may be bad. Check for correct voltage of the incoming power wires inside the motor connection housing. Sometimes turning the circuit breaker off, then back on will fix it.
