I am trying to instal a snow blower attachment that was previously installed on my riding lawn tractor. i have it mounted underneath the tractor now but when i install the belt around the pulleys i cannot get it lose enough to make it work properly. as soon as i start up the tractor the snow blower runs constantly and i cannot disengage it. the tractor is a craftsman dls 3500. pls help
You must get a longer belt and, install an idler pulley
your craftsman dealer has the conversion kit parts

Testimonial: "that does make sense, although this blower was installed on this tractor when i bough it and it worked fine, i took it off earlier this year to install my mower. im using all the same parts and i know im not missing anything. did i possibly miss a step during installation or something like that?"

It attaches the the front of the tractor. Similar to a plow to a truck. If you don't have the brackets, you will need those, or make your own. You can see a picture of the brackets if you go to sears.com. Click on the PartsDirect link at the top, and enter the blade model number.

I believe you may have the belt over one or more of the belt retainers next to the pulleys. They are 5 or 6 inches long and about a 1/4 inch in diameter. You have to loosen them when you put the belt on then adjust them to where they are just barely touching the back of the belt. They keep the belt from jumping off.

I don't know the answer to this question but I wouldn't mind getting one of those tillers for my tractor. If you ever decide to part with it let me know! j e s s e m e r s o n @ m y m a c m a i l dot com
