Question about HP Pavilion F1503 15" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
HP monitors are renowned for having the inverters quit working. To repair the inverter you disconnect the power and if a laptop also remove the battery. Remove the plastic bezel (edge plastic around the screen), this can be done by lightly prying the plastic away from the screen, at the bottom of the screen just behind this plastic bezel you will see a small printed circuit board with 1 or 2 screws holding it in place with wires plugged into it, you will need an exact replacement part, the part numbers are printed on the board. Most boards are readily available for around $20 or less on Ebay. Carefully unplug the wires and screws, install the new board, attach wires, replace screw(s), snap bezel back in place making sure no wires get pinched, and you should be good to go. 30 minute fix for a novice.
