Cobra 29 now Ltd classic Cobra 29 nw.ltd classic receives not well but does not transmit don't even move the swr./power meter any ideas


High SWR on antenna system.. may have mess up your RF final transistors. if you were talking on it for a long time. have someone check the SWR on the antenna system... should be a FREE service.

is the radio in duplex (offset transmit freq)if keying takes radio out of band it would show err,select simplex ie transmit/recieve same freq

I can recieve but i can't transmit


Either bad mic. or blown final transistors. if you can move the needle of a radio next to you. then its prob the transistors.

it may not be that IC but maybe a electritic cap or a transister.

Midland alan 48 plus transmit scale not moving


Sorted now, soldered a new output transistor into the board and all working.

Hello Darren, Yes it sounds like the mic is wired bass ackwards,,! A cobra 25 mic wiring is
PIN #1- Shield or ground wire
PIN#2- Audio or Transmit modulation
PIN #3- Transmit or Dead Key
PIN #4- Receive Audio.
When your keying the mic, the RX wires are being connected to make the RX work,,,
*** Let me know how you get along with it. Either buy a new mic wired for your radio or you or someone comfortable with soldering needs to resolder the correct wires back on the mic plug,,,Like I said, let me know and have a great day,, Mechanic is back quiet!
