SOURCE: Seagate Free Agent Problem

i have the exact same problem... not sure what caused it... there was a massive power spike here, and that could be it... of cource most of the electronics fried by that do not even turn on, while that turns on just fine and flashed the yellow light...

the drive sounds fine itself, so the problem is most likely in the Seagate FAP case itself, probably the internal circuitry, as when i turn it on the drive spins up normally and does not make and noises that are the tell-tale signs of a dead drive... my suggesgion would be to crack open the Seagate case (i know i know, i thought it looked nice to, but would you rather have all your data or a nice-looking doorstop) and take the hard drive out, then connect it either 1) directly into your computer or 2) into another external hardrive case. As this hard drive has eSATA, it is probibly a safe bet that it is a SATA drive, so that's probibly the connection you need. Again, i have not tried this, but i will attempt it soon... what's the worst that can happen? my drive will not work inside the case, my drive will not work outside the case... same thing really... but this is the last time i buy seagate...

You very likely have a power supply that has failed.

SOURCE: My mouse and keyboard freeze up momentarily

need more input to isolate the problem... does this occur when on power... does this occur when not on power... if ur system is old then is there lint settled within ur fan vents... all remaining the same seeing such a precise count i would suggest get the mobo cleaned up and checked for dust and i would conclude that u either need a BIOS update a BIOS reset or a hardware assistance... hardware assistance in any form for laptop would be to replace the MOBO costly!

Ok It would help if you mentioned what operating system you have! Windows 7 or 8 or MAC
In windows go to display then resolution you will have a choice to duplicate displays or extend displays, make sure the external monitor is plugged in to the VGA or HDMI port.

When the Pentax USB cable is connected to the computer USB outlet pictures do not appear on computer

make sure camera is in the play mode and powered on. If this does not work, sub out the cable to make sure it is not the cable. The last thing is to reinstall the usb ports - this is almost never necessary - but to do this start/control panel/system/device mgr, find usb root hub and right click uninstall to each. reboot and they will reinstall automatically.

good luck

I have a rebranded HP monitor that has a usb hub, camera, and card reader built in to the frame. TS-25W8HC is the rebranded model, the HP model is HP w2558hc. Problem: when I reboot computer system hangs...

This is normal for a lot of USB devices that draw current such as monotors, external hard drives, etc.

There is no cure except moving around USB cables, which MIGHT work.

Windows xp is freezing when trying to start

Go into Safe Mode navigate to Accesories then go to System tools
Select System Restore pick a point before you installed the new monitor and let it roll back.
Re-start the system normally

Did you get a CD with the monitor ?, if you did then I suggest that you load that once you are back on line.

Once it is loaded try for a re-install

If the new monitor is a fancy one then it is possible it needs to have some communication with the PC on a regular basis to keep it happy

Memory upgrade

I like all the information you gave. However the information you are looking for is in the manufactures web site. goto search engine and enter your computers manufactures name followed by the word "support" find the site and then look up the details for your computer. The reason I say this is because each slot can only control a certain amount of memory. The manufacture will tell you what each slot can control and also the type of memory supported by your motherboard. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT> never mix memory. Make sure of speed and capacity. If you mix diffrent speed and capacities the results could end in total failure.
