Lx173 John Deere wont start. starter motor will not run to start eng you hear only solenoid engaging starter drive. have tested motor on bench. started blowing fuse since solenoid replaced.

You may have a bad key switch or you have a short in the wiring somewhere. Also check the Magneto's for proper gap. If they are loose they will stick to the flywheel and prevent motor from turning and could blow fuse.

I have a Ford Festiva and my indicator fuse keeps blowing out, anyone know what this problem would be?

Obvious short circuit probably caused by spring contact at base of bulb. bulb holder deformed or bent. they still use this design in many trailer lights.

Brake light fuse and fog light fuse blowing

-- First - double check that you have the right sized fuse. If you're using a 15 instead of a 30 - it'll blow for sure.
-- Maybe the light is too bright for your circuit. Try a dimmer bulb.
-- Next, have you had anything installed in your car BEFORE this started happening??? More specifically, on the same circuit as the one that is blowing??? If yes, you'll need to make sure that a no wire is touching any metal part of the car, or that no screw pierced a wire and now makes contact with metal or water.mthat can easily cause a short and blowbthe fuse.
Take a few moments to inspect the condition of the wires, make sure everything looks good and use electrical tape to repair if need be.

Why does hazard fuse keep blowing

There might be a short-circuit somewhere between the fuse box to the light.
I think that somewhere in that region is a wire that touches the body of the car, or something like that.
The body of the car is (most of the time) the mass (the negative of the battery).

For me, it could either be the wire from the fuse box to the light (maybe the rubber coating is damaged?), either the mounting stock of the light bulb (often the problem in household lamps), or the fuse holder which touches the body without any insulation.

rating-3.gifDriving through junk yards, a roadside electrician points out the obvious to me that my taillight is out and he could fix it for $80. After checking for about 45 min. He gets all my lights running. No more blown fuses. He said it was the headlights causing the problems. The wires were touching. Thnk

How can I figure out why fuse 15A keeps blowing? My dashboard lights don't work nor do the back lights. My breaks and signals work but at night when I turn the car on the regular lights in the back...

There is a shorted wire somewhere in that circuit. Check to see if any wires are pinched under a bracket or brace where he was working. I have seen it where it was a light bulb the was bad. Need someone familiar with a volt/ohm meter to help trace problem. Good Luck. You did not state where he had been working.

Tail light fues keeps blowing on a 1993 landcruiser

First, be sure you are replacing with the correct bulb and correct fuse. If so, you must have a short in the circuit. A short is a place where the wire touches the car frame or bulb socket or some other metal part. If the fuse blows instantly it is likely a direct short. Check the wires where they connect to the bulb socket and any place you see them to see of the insulation is damaged or missing. This is especially true of any place where the wire move or can rub on something. A short can come from only one small strand of the wire touching metal. It is difficult to trace the entire wire because it is in places that may be hard to see. Somewhere in the system there is a short or something that causes the fuse to blow. If you have modified the lights for a trailer or some other item that adds lights that also could be the problem. More lights use more current and may be more that the fuse will allow. DON'T REPLACE WITH A LARGER FUSE. THAT CAN CAUSE A FIRE. Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Fuse keeps blowing

Depending what amperage fuse was blown, ( agreeing with jtarin if you are dealing with the brake lights) Then you could have a possible short to Ground. Meaning that there is a break in the wire insulation allowing the bare wire contacting metal. This Break in the insulation is before the Load ( bulb, motor, etc) Allowing the fuse to blow.

Check wires for cracks and breaks. replace/repair as needed.

1984 ford ranger keeps blowing the running light fuses. when i let it sit at idle it won't blow the fuses but as soon as i start driving with in 5 mins or so it blows.... any ideas?

short in the wires will need a wiring diagram and ohm/volt meter to locate the problem, test lights work well to.
you will need replace the fuse with a light bulb so that the power will not go away. and you will have to search for power going straight to a ground source.
usually a raw wire from rubbing somewhere. can do a quick visual inspection first for the obvious, and then use the meter at certain points till you find a volt drop.

Fuse problems on hyundia lantra 1999

are the rear lights combined? ie sidelamp and brake lamp in one bulb .if so, there is a possibility that the bulb is not sitting correctly in the holder , causing both the side & brake lamp fuses to blow . if they are seperate bulbs you probably have ashort in the sidelamp system somewhere but the brakes could be a switch problem [easy check, find switch ,disconnect wires short across using wire or paperclip switch on ignition and check lights ] if they work the switch is the problem , [check fuse first] if they don't
