Panasonic PV-4664 VR wont't power on. Replaced 1.6A input fuse and fuse blows immendiately when power supply is both installed and removed from the unit. Appears the power supply has a problem.

Fuses blow like that when a semi-conductor has shorted and acting like a piece of wire. Transistors diodes etc will show up quick with a Ohm meter, has it will be just like you have touched the probes together!

My panasonic ae900 projector suddenly stopped getting power. No indication lamp is lit.I checked all the outlets and power cords.Could it be a fuse? if yes, where is it located?

there is 2 fuses, one in the power lead and one inside in the projector close to where the power cord enters the rear of the unit, the one inside is white in colour, remove the fuse and test it with a long nose plyers and test it with a multi meter, then you know if you need a new power supply or software

Without seeing the actual unit, I would guess that the power supply has failed. These unit have what are called "switch mode" supplies that rely on circuits that oscillate. If a capacitor goes bad, the unit won't oscillate properly, thus no power. These are difficult to track, but are not usually expensive to repair. I would suggest a trip to a service center for a detailed repair estimate. Report the results here.

If the MFD (Multi Function Flourescent Display is not working, check the -27 - 30 Volt (minus 27V to minus 30V) supply line. The fuse or a fuse resistor (around .5ohms 1/8W ) will be blown.

Also, it is possible that the 3V AC heater supply line is disconnected at some point.
Check that also.

** power

There is usually a fuse on the back of the unit. Did you check that? There may be a power supply issue to where ever you took power from? Maybe not a constant or "breaked" tap point. Go over the following site and see if it helps. If all else fails, the unit could be faulty. Go back for warranty.

Unit is dead....

The power supply is the first place to start.

Is there a transformer? Check to see that there is AC on the primary & secondary of the transformer.

If no AC on the secondary, then the transformer is bad. If AC ok on the secondary, then look for a bad rectifier diode/module and/or regulator module. There might also be fuses on the DC side of the power supply.

If the unit is completely dead, it's most likely a power supply issue.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
