Should only need to hold the reset button for about 15 seconds. Make sure you have solid contact with the button, such as with a paper clip or tooth pick. If it still will not reset then you may have a bad router and it may need to be replaced.

SOURCE: wireless router not connecting

Be sure that your Modem plugs into the WAN port on the router.

1. Unplug your cable/dsl modem power
2. Unplug your Router power
3. Plug in your modem power ... wait for it to come completely up.
4. Plug in your WRT54G Router and wait for it to come up.

Press the reset button on the back of the router for 45 seconds while it is powered on. This will do a factory reset. Wait for it to come up. Then unplug it. Wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. Let it come all the way up.

Plug a PC into one of the switch ports on the router.
Now do an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /refresh in the command prompt of your PC to get an IP address from your Router.

Now you should be able to ping 192.168.0.1 and you should be able to get into the the configuration utility by putting http://192.168.0.1 in a browser. The username should be blank and the password will most likely be admin (all lower case).

Be sure to lock down your wireless SSID so neighbors and people passing by are unable to connect to your access point and do bad things on your network.

SOURCE: WIFI not working with Linksys wireless-g broadband router/Comcast

Unplugging the wireless router and connecting it again should not have altered the wireless connection/configuration. You have connected the cables correctly because the Internet works when you connect a LAN cable to the router.
The Linksys wireless configuration or the wireless card configuration in the computer was changed it to lose the wireless connection. The wireless card configuration needs to be changed to match the wireless router's settings or change the Linksys with new configuration settings and configure the wireless card accordingly.

SOURCE: power led is blinking after I upgrade firmware

Something went wrong during the upgrade of your firmware. If you were upgrading the firmware from Linksys website you need to call their tech support and have them replace it for you. If you were trying to hack it with a 3rd party firmware you probably need to go buy another one and maybe consider using the firmware it comes with. You cannot restore the device because the flash killed the restore function. Your device is cooked. Put some BBQ sauce on it and serve it for dinner.

I have asus router WL 500 g premium , when i conect my router to the power , all led form lan it open bu no lan it is on router . router not conect , pls help me .

Have you tried to reset the router? Most routers have a reset button in the back of the router (where the LAN ports are located) that you can hold in for ~30 seconds to reset the router to factory defaults which could also resolve the issue you're having as well. Although if you have a computer connected using a patch cable (CAT5) to a computer that is turned on and your not getting a link indicator light on your router then try another port to see if the led is visible then, if not try another patch cable or try connecting it to another machine.

My router internet LED is not working plz tell me troubleshoot

Make sure your ethernet cable connecting from the router is properly connected from your modem. If it still not showing any progress, try to reset the router by pressing and holding the reset hole at the back of the router until it restarts itself; then check again.

If it still wont light up the internet led on the router, make sure your modem has connectivity; try plugging in your computer directly to the modem to verify this. If all has been done and still the router does not give you a connection, then I hope your router is still under warranty to have it repaired for free or even replaced for a new one. If its no longer, then the router might have been damaged especially if it was raining hard on your area with occassional lightnings lately.

WRT610n router power led light blinks and i cant

If the power light is blinking on the router , then it might not be working properly.
You will need to press the reset button on the back side of the router for 30 seconds. release it. unplug the power cable. plug it back in. wait for a minute and check if the power light is solid.
If not then try to reset the router again.
do the same thing and check if the power light is solid.

If the power light is solid then you will need to set up the router again.
If the power light is still blinking, then connect the computer to the router and check the IP address on the computer. If the IP address is 192.168.1.100 then try to open the set up page of the router and check the settings of the router.

The lights on your router indicate a firmware problem. To fix it, you need to hard reset the router. Press the reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds then unplug the power. Wait for a minute before you plug it back in. Check the lights again. That should fix it.

I have an issue with my Dlink DIR-625 wireless and cable modem

it isn't syncing up with your modem, try a hard reboot, disconect everything, even the cable, after 5 minutes , first screw the coax cable back to the modem, that will re establish the cable connection, plug everything back in, and if that pc light still is still doesn't work, the router may be bad, look on the Dlink site and download the latest firmware, as a last resort, but also reset the router first before trying anything, there is a reset button on the router. Sometimes certain routers don't work with certain modems, if you try the reset, then the hard reboot, and the firmware, you have covered all the bases

That means it hasnt picked up an IP from the modem.

Unplug the power to the modem and the router. Leave them off for a full minute. Pluge the modem in first , give it another full minute then power up the router. If you still have problems try another cable.

If you still have issues, Power off the modem and the PC and repeat the above process.Verify the PC is getting connection. If you cant connect then call the cable/DSL company.

If you can connect download the latest firmware from Netgear and flash the router.
