Virus in Camera

Your model doesn't come with built-in storage, so that makes this easier. You should first put in another SD card and see if that helps. If it does, you'll probably have to reformat your first SD card, wiping everything on it. Sometimes formatting issues appear to Windows like a virus on an external device. If this does not fix the virus warning problem, then your virus is likely on your computer, not the camera.

A good virus scanner/remover might be in order for your computer.

Hope this helps. Good luck

Power button broke on zoom q3

There is a design defect in the zoom Q3 video/sound recorder. The power button is tiny and only held by three finite solder points that cannot take the regular force of one pressing on it. The solution is simple and permanent. Since the Samson tech Zoom Q3 comes part easy you have access to the part. The power switch falls of and stays inside. Get a fine tip soldering iron and resolver it, but the real trick is to put some liquid plastic support in behind the power switch and around it so that it will no longer be affected by the force of pressing it on and off. Recorder showing these words in window: ERR wish to restore it to folder index where I have important interviews filed.

The ERR indicator is only active if the DVR detects errors related to decoding of video/audio. These errors are due to discontinuities in the received or recorded file data.

"chk" error on screen olympus vn-4100 pc

I had a similar sounding problem my Olympus VN-5000. I would turn it on, it would show "CHK" for a few seconds, and then "ERR." This persisted despite fresh batteries. The "ERR" message reportedly means a memory error. I found a solution, which appears to reformat the memory. Try to press the STOP and DISP/MENU buttons at the same time for about 2 seconds, and then the display should show "FOR". It will supposedly erase the whole memory, but will at least make the device usable again! I hope this solution works for your model...
