Its happened for me also. Go to :
Settings/ Mail,Contacts, Calendars/ Gmail/ Account/
and reenter your password. It will verify, and that should take care of it. Give it a try.

Why am I being TOLD to change my pasword?

Actually Eva, You said it, That's why you should change your password. Its not that you're someone important or someone with money. Its because in 20 years you have a a huge contact list and have a good reputation on email.

So imagine if your account got hacked, if something came from you with a virus or a piece of bad code, no one would suspect it was a bad email. SO the older the account the bigger the target for spammers and hackers. its not always about important people, its about volume. the more people they catch the more they are valued.

So in Summary, change your password peridically. I know is inconvenient, but its a lot easier than having to make a whole new account and getting all your friends to use it. in 20 years of having the same account, it will be hard for them to use a new address. Take care.

How can I change my google account address

If you use Gmail with your Google Account, it's not currently allowed to change your Gmail username after you have registered unless you wish to delete Gmail from your Google Account and use another non-Gmail username for the account.

If you do not use Gmail with your Google Account, it is possible to change Google Account username to another email address. You can do this by referring to the link below:

I can't remember my gmail account password to put it on a new phone although I can get mail on that account on my pc

Using your PC, sign out of your Gmail account by clicking the avatar in the upper-right then clicking "Sign out." Then click the "Need help?" link on the sign-in page.

This will start the process to reset your password. After that you can change it to something you can remember.

How do I sign in to my gmail account with facebook

Signing into any account by using another account is a dangerous and lazy practice. Additionally, you've shared your security details with a third party which is in breach of the agreement you have with gmail/facebook - you've given your details to a third party and not kept them to yourself.

When your gmail or facebook account eventually gets hacked, they have access to all your accounts. Not that I haven't been tempted to do something similar. I have more accounts than you might ever have and have the opportunity to 'link' them all by using facebook but won't because of the security implications.

Forgot my gmail password also, confirmation numbers

When trying to log into Gmail, you will get the option to reset password. It should say "Forgot Password" above the login line. When you click "Forgot Password" you will need to input the email account you used to open your Gmail account. Log into the other email account and you will have a message from Google with a temporary password. Use that to access your Gmail account and dont forget to change the temporary password to something you will rememberr in your profile.

Good luck

Password fogotten for my Gmail account

Only one person is supposed to know your password. If you forgot it, when logging in, on that page is a button, forgot password or something like that. Press the button and you will get an email, on the address you gave the site while setting up your account. Follow the instructions in the mail and everything will be ok in just a few minutes.
If someone hacked your account and did change the settings, you don't get an e-mail, you won't be able to claim the account. You have to setup a new account.

I want to change my gmail account login to a shorter one but it will not let me

You would basically have to create a new account. With Gmail this isn't just a login, but the entire account's identity. Depending on how established the original account is, you may not want to go through the hassle of changing it. If it's relatively new, then I'd get the one you really want locked in ASAP and make sure the people you interact with have that contact info.

If you do t use it for Gmail access and just use it for access to other Google services then change it. No big deal.

Hope this helps, don't forget to rate or respond with a follow-up question.

Dont have themes settings

The Gmail themes tab is missing from the Settings because you are using the older Gmail version. To use themes on your account, you need to change to the standard version or the more advanced Gmail version. And this is how you do it.
Log in to your Gmail account. Once you get to the inbox, check for the Newer version link near the top right. You cannot miss it - it's to the right of the Settings link. By the way, changing the Gmail version will not harm or delete your email messages or information, so go ahead and click on the link.
When the newer Gmail version loads, you would see some small cosmetic changes in colors and layout. Anyway, to get Gmail themes for your account, hit the Settings link and go to the Themes tab. I suppose you can now take it from here.
You will not be able to use Gmail themes if you are working from an old web browser. This feature is compatible only Internet Explorer 7.0+, Firefox 2.0+, Safari 3.0+ and of course Google`s chrome . If you are still on Internet Explorer version 6 (and many are), you need to upgrade to the next version to get Gmail themes for your email account or better still download and install chrome or Firefox.
