Re: samsung memory

Which Toshiba?

Different Toshibas use different memory.
You might have DDR or DDR2 memory. You purchased DDR2 (PC2-5300) ... you probably need PC-3200.... but I can't tell if I don't know which Toshiba you have.
Please reply and I can tell you.

Re: samsung memory

Could be, I bought memory for my computer on ebay, it specied RAM for Dell Dimension 23oo,2400 ect. The memory fit in the slot right but computer wouldn't boot up which ment it wasn't compatiable. I sent it back and got a refund. When buying memory on ebay do two things: Contact seller and make sure it is compatible with your system, then make sure there is a return policy. If you can't get a refund and you think this is a fake report. Also if payed through paypal report to them too.

From wordpad to memory stick

harvey connect your memory stick to the computer .....the vista windows will detect and tell you when it's ready for use.....if you already saved the work then go to the file and right click on it with the mouse then choose ( send to ) and your memory stick should be there just click on it.
The other method is when you want to save your document in wordpad:
1. click file.
2. save as.
then on the dropdown in the middle the arrow to the left and you will see your memory stick choose that and your file will be saved there and your documents or where you put them normally.

What files do I copy???????????

I'm assuming you are using the memory stick for extra storage to free up space on your hard drive (or your C drive) or as a drive to back your files up on. A memory stick, when used the way you are describing, is nothing more than another drive to store stuff on (think of it as a smaller version of your C Drive) You can put any file type you want on it and then see it again as long as it is inserted in your computer.

If the purpose of the memory stick is to provide extra storage in order to free up space on your hard drive then yes, you will need to delete whatever you drag on to it from your hard drive. Otherwise the files will remain on your C drive/hard drive and continue to take up space. If you are only using the memory stick as a "just in case" backup drive, I would not delete them the files you copy from the source drive.

Let me caution you about doing this however, memory sticks are classified as "removable media". Media like this can sometimes be unstable or undependable. A more stable way to backup or store files long term is to copy them to a CD or DVD-ROM. In order to do that you need a CD or DVD writer. Most newer (within the last 3 years) computers come standard with this technology.
You may or may not have that capability.

The Itunes question is a whole 'nother line of answers. You can use your memory stick to back up your Itunes library but it will only be a back up. Because your Itunes software is linked to the files on your hard drive, all of your music files would still have to reside on your hard drive where they were originally.

If you want your Itunes library to reside solely on your memory stick (which in my opinion is not a good idea due to the instability of the memory stick) you would need to reconfigure Itunes to make it point to the library on your memory stick. It's definitely doable but gets kinda sticky in the transfer. Let me know if this is what you want to do with it and I can walk you through that.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!

IBM T860 Monitor (9494HB0)

Assuming that nothing is electronically wrong with the IBM 9494, it should work with the old monitor cable (VGA) as well as the old monitor power cord.

Kind regards.

Beeping sound coming from samsung cpu; no image on screen.

Depending on how many beeps, the sequence and the interval, this is indicative of a fault in either the video card or the memory. In some models this can also refer to the bios/motherboard fault.

If you PC came with an add-on video card, try to remove, clean the little gold tips and reinsert back. If the video is built-in to the motherboard, then it is sharing the memory. You can do the same with the memories. Remove, clean, reinsert. A good way of cleaning would be with the use of a pencil eraser rubbing on the gold strips/pins.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back specific model of your PC as well as the sequence of beeps.

Good luck and kind regards.

It sounds like it is a settings issue in Windows, you should be able to fix it by following this order:
Go to your Start Menu>Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced

Click on: "GEForce Go XXXX" and on nView Display Mode change from Single Display to either "Clone" or "Dualview"

Than click apply and that should fix your problem.

If that doesn't work, than download the Acer Driver with the for Windows XP if your monitor is certified for vista.

This is a common issue with vista,
Hope this helps!
