Can't get it out of SAP mode. tried two different remotes. TV doesn't respond.

1. If you're watching TV via a Cable or Satellite box , then the SAP (Secondary Audio Programming) is activated in the box, not the TV. Check with your TV service provider how to activate/deactivate SAP in their box.

2. Only if you're using the TV's own built-in tuner to watch TV (you're changing channels by using the Panasonic remote for CH up/down), then press the SAP button on the Panasonic TV remote to cycle through the SAP options.

The remote sensor in the TV unit is not responding

Check the remote control for its infrared emission first. If it found OK, check and replace the remote sensor inside the TV. My sky remote will not switch my tv on or control the volume

OK, to see if it is remote or TV, please do this, Use the controls on the set, see if the set will respond to the menu, up, down, select, etc, buttons that are on the TV itself. Now if it is OK, then check, the batteries, in the remote, check, the battery connections, open the unit up, and check, behind the keypad, make sure all is OK, there. Now check, at the very wend where the IR Diode is, often it fractures, around that solder joint. Also ensure your remote is coded correctly too.

Won't respond to volume or channel changes red light blinks 20x's when turned off.

It's definitely a firmware problem. I called Panasonic and they were very polite about the entire situation and sent me a SD card with the firmware update. If you don't have time and you're tired of listening to tv at the same volume there is a way to do a hard reset.

I figured that unplugging the unit would do this, but there is one other step that you have to do to ensure that this works.

Generally the power button on the tv is always in the "on" position, this is what allows the remote to work. In order to do a hard reset the on/off button must be in the off position. Make sure that is off, then unplug the unit, let it sit there for a minute or two and plug it back in. If the tv comes back on as soon as you plug it back into the wall/powerstrip then the button was not in the off position.

This isn't the best fix, you'll still need to get the firmware update but it will at least give you the ability to use your tv normally....well until it decides to randomly lock up on you again and you have to do this all over.
