My mechanic replaced my front struts with an after market strut without the CAT system wires and plugs and now I get the CAT system failure light.

You need to put resistors in the connectors to the old units to mimic the circuit resistance, I am sorry but don't know what value/ohms they should be. Try joining a Jag owners forum and asking there

I have changed both hooter for 2004 Mercedes-Benz C200 but still not working

By hooter I assume you mean the horn? On Mercedes these are controlled by the AAM or all activity module. That's just a computer module that controls the human interactions amongst other things with the car. Airbags, horns, wipers and all sorts of weird stuff is not directly connected to the switches you press. So in your case the problem may be in the wiring or connector but can also be the aam.UnfoUnfortunately you will need to go get it connected to some version of the Mercedes diagnostic software (star system). This will read a code and tell whatever the issue is. It is not the same diagnostic that the normal mechanic can read and usually only found at Mercedes or shops that deal with euro vehicles. This is a pain and will cost but it might be as simple as the code nearing to be cleared. Then the aam will recognise it is connected to two working horns again and allow them to be activated. Before you do that check your wiring and connectors, look for corrosion and or bent broken pins or wires. I would have to look up the fuse or relay for the horn to tell you but those need to be looked at as well. This is the same stuff a mechanics will do but you are cheaper so it's worth doing.

Brake lamps wont work

First, check your fuses. If none of them are bad, then check the bulbs. Does the Blazer have a 3rd light? It is very rare that all 3 lights would go out at once. Do you have a tow package installed? Check the fuses or wiring pigtale/connection. FInaly, if the aformentioned steps are ok, then you need to check the brake peddle. Attached to a plate, there is a plunger mechanism that activates the lights. If 1 of the wires are off, then they will not work. Good luck. Hope his helps.

Kitchenaid trash compactor bought in 2000; no model/serial number found. Compactor was stuck in partial down position; worked the drawer out and found cotton fibers wadded/stuck at top of the up/down...

at the top, above the ram, there are two switches. One is the reversing switch (should have 4 wires), the other is the stop switch (2 wires). I suspect that the switch arm is bent, due to what you just described, and fails to activate the switch to stop the motor when the ram is at the top position.

I have a GE electric oven mode JSP48G*J2. It has a mechanical clock/timer that has gone bad. The replacement part is WB19X10007, but I'd like to see the instructions for installing this before I go spend...

Normally the mechanical timers have only 2 terminals. Active supply in and oven load out. It doesn't matter which wire you put where. If you don't use the timer just join the active supply and the load together and the oven will work.

How do i unlock door with a clothes hanger

Take a wedge (plastic preferably) and wedge a bit between the door and roof enough to get hanger/wire inside to activate the power lock mechanism on the door panel. You risk scratching the paint doing this, but it has worked for me in the past, or you can trip the door lock with the wire.

When I activate self cleaning, the door lock does not activate and i get an f8 error code. I replaced the entire locking mechanism with a brand new one - bu the problem is still there.

I am sorry you are having this trouble. Hopefully the following will help you.

Its not the locking mechanism that is bad, it is the door switch or wiring to the door switch.

Its not detecting that the door is closed so it will not lock the door, and gives you error code F8 - Door switch not detecting door closed.

Check the switch its self and make sure all wires are connect to it.

I hope I was able to help you and thank you for using Fixya!!!

Hood latch won't release

This has happened to me several times, this will take two people, but all you need to do is have one person pull the hood release, while person number 2 pushes down on the hood, and then pulls up...that ought to do the trick

Tascam da-30mk2 keep getting error 01 message. I have tried turning unit on and off still wont load tape. I have not turned this unit on for about 6 months prior.

On the top of the cassette mechanism there are two micro switches on one small plate with 3 wires. These switches "tells" the electronics where the door is open or close & activate the rest of loading mechanism (second motor). If only one of the switches is not working, you will get this error (that's was my problem). The switch who is responsible for closing was broken. I replace the switch and everything is working fine and smoothly now.
Good luck!
