If you are saying that the left side is LOUDER than the right it could be DC offset on the recording or it could be phasing issues.

Audiosource amp 100 on lower volumes right speaker louder than left speaker 2.1 setup

The problem is not due to how the circuitry is configured; the problem is due to failure of some element in the right channel amplification circuit. This will require detailed troubleshooting to correct.

The title contains the Onkyo reference, hence the presumption it was involved.

Yup, sounds like you're stuck with a lemon. Have you contacted Bose?

I have a pair of Monitor 10's looks like they were from 1987. The sound in one speaker is one quarter of the other - any ideas??

Hi there.
What kind of amplifier do you use to drive them?
Switch the cables to the speakers, left to the right one end the right to the left but be sure the plus and minus are right on both amp and speakers. If the one is still much louder than the other one check the cable from your player to the amp. Switch them white/left to red/right and vise versa.
Iceman.

One speaker is MUCH louder than the other

It sound like you have a break in the main wire from the computer sound card to your speaker amp OR the plug is not plug in completely plugged in all the way. Try some other speakers or ear buds / head phones to isolate sound card problem or speaker problem.

invert the speaker cables if the problem went to right speaker you will find a problem in your left speaker(cable or speaker)-if not you will have a problem in your amp itself.
