I have the Russell Hobbs coffee maker model RH12DSBCAN and it will not brew coffee. The button is pressed and the ''on'' light is lit up, but the coffee never begins to actually brew. Nothing is any different - grinds are in their correct place and the water is filled. Is this work fixing, or simply buying a new maker?

- No, the water is not heating up. Maplin Electronics appears to be a UK company and I'm far away from there, so I will not be able to purchase any of their products.

hi i hope i can help you? may i please ask does the water heat? if not if you have a multimeter open it up and check the hot plate. and the connections even if the light is on there the other side of the switch. you can get these meters from maplin electronics for about £8 £9 very cheap but will last for many years.

- may i sujest try and get into an electrical store to get a little multimeter. you may be better off just to get a new one? also inspect the consumer unit in case the MCB or RCD has tripped?.
