Re: PSP video downloading

Make sure they are in the MP4 format. If not, use 3rd party software to convert them. I prefer to use Aimersoft Video Converter or Aimersoft PSP Converter Suite. You can find them here:
Hope to help you.

Re: PSP video downloading

The format for a psp video is MPEG-4, you must have a video converter, in placing the video, create folder "VIDEO" and then make a new folder again and in that folder, place your video. If you want to download a MPEG-4 converter just go to this site

Everytime i go to a psp store, the store owner always say that my psp needs to be modified b4 they can download games into my psp. Does my psp really needs to be modified to play downloaded games?

Yes and No.
The only legal download games are in the Playstation Store.
If you are downloaded illegal versions of the PSP games, you need a modified PSP to play them.

If you are attempting to download ROMs to play on emulators, you also need a modified PSP to run the emulator.

How to download movies

To watch a downloaded movie, clip or any other video on your PSP, you need to:

1. Get your video converted to MP4 format. PSP supports MP4 and .H264 (MP4 part 10, AAC).

There are many free programs that convert your videos into the MP4 format that your PSP likes.
2. Please ensure to set audio frequency to 24000Hz (24Khz). If you set it to 48Khz PSP will not play saying "unsupported data".
3. Transfer it to your PSP and Enjoy!
There is a complete guide, with free video for download at:

Psp video playback

Hi. The PSP only plays a limited number of video formats; I think off hand MP4 is one. It will not play AVI formatted files, the most common type on PC for downloading.Check the file type of the movie you are trying to watch, by right-clicking on the file on your PC then selecting 'properties'. It should say there. Also holding the cursor over the file for a few seconds should show you the file info. I am unsure how to convert between video formats, you might be able to download something online that will do that for you.
