SOURCE: no manual for Husquvarna ride on mower model 4140H

Don't know if this helps but the owners manual for my Husq YTH2148
indicates that the transmission fluid is not to be changed, ever. If there is a problem, the whole unit is to be replaced.

These mowers, along with many craftsman rider mowers, are actually made by Roper. Perhaps if you googled around a bit you could get more info relating to service of the transaxle.

My mower lacks speed in forward. It works fine in reverse. Does it need hydraulic fluid? If so, how do I add it?

Good question ... what kind is it ... should I guess? Some take 30 weight non detergent oil ... others take transmission fluid type F or GM or other "flavor" (specialty oil). Some fill under the seat others fill else where. Are you sure it is hydraulic? Have you looked for the fill tube? Do you have the instruction/owners manual anywhere? I would like to help you and maybe I have, inadvertently. Please don't put anything in until (1) you know what kind of fluid is suppose to be put in (2) you know it is low and requires additional fluid (3) don't operate it until you get the answers to (1) and (2). Is there a dealer for your unnamed make and model in your town? Have you called them? Maybe you should give them a call ...

If you have additional information to offer which will help me to help you solve your trouble, please post it. Thank you.

Weedeater 20" push mower 300 series 4.5 hp B & S The engine kind of dies down from time to time, it doesn't completely quit. I was wanting to know what that might be and I was also needing to know...

you have water in your fuel tank, drain the tank by using a catch bucket and tip the mower sideways to empty out the fuel tank. replace with fresh fuel. Use any motor oil rated at 10W30 for the oil change.

Need to know where you drain the oil at on the push mower???

Todays walk-behind mowers are designed to drain the oil right out of the fill tube. Position you catch pan beside the mower and tilt the mower over the pan.Be sure the air filter is on the "up"side. Once all the oil is drained uot add the proper amount of oil,let the mower set for a few hours and you're good to go!

Changing oil

its quite possible there isn't one. if you have had a good look and can't see it then what you need to do is sit the mower on its side and let it drain out the oil filler (where you would normally put the oil in). another way is to use a big syring with a small hose on the end and **** it out. lol sorry, i dont know why the makers do this but this is standard procedure.

What kind of oil do I use and how do I hange the oil? I have a walk behind mower model HD4QN20RF.

you use 30HD only 20 oz.. There is a drain plug under the deck in the bottom of the mower. It takes a 3/8 " ratchet and an extension. Push the handles down, Disconnect the spark plug wire, Mower the blade to one side, Take out the drain plug, put a container to collect the used oil under the mower, Put the mower back down, And it will drain the oil. Check and make sure you are getting the oil in the container. When it has drained the oil, Put the plug back in, put new oil in the mower. Hope it helps.
Good day.
