Error 41 My machine says error 41. I went to the website and it said to remove the ink cartridges and do some other stuff. I can't get the ink cartridges to come out at all.

Newer printers and all in one machines do not take refilled cartridges.

The canon pixma mp 210 uses PG-30, CL-31, PG-40, CL-41
It will not recognized the PG-50 & CL- 51
See if you can return it and exchange it for the PG-40 & CL-41.
If not, the only other way is to transfer the ink into the other ink cartridges.
The cartridge cap can be removed by a sharp tap at the back end of the cover.
You can glue back the cover.
If there is an E 1,6 Error code, Ink has run out after you install your ink cartridges
Press and hold the stop/reset button for about 10 seconds to clear the error code.

These types of severe cartridge errors (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", etc.) typically indicate the internal micro-electronics of the HP #60-61 cartridge are electrically damaged - now, these errors can be bypassed on select printer models (temporarily). The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge, are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure due to prolonged ink exposure and subsequent circuit corrosion. I suggest you always run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on C4600-C4700 models which use HP 60 cartridges. Very likely your print head is faulty. You can get it replaced or try the economical solution below.

I had the same problem after replacing the print head. I removed the ink cartridge and then unclip the two metal two clips by the side that hold the print head. Then I used WD40 to spray through the ink holes until the clear liquid comes out from the print head.Then I replaced everything back and start the cleanning process, do a few test prints. It works ok now, no more Machine Error 41. Therefore, sometime the problem might just be clogged pin heads!

This is a mechanical problem with the printer head it will need to be repaired.

Try an authorized service center with the link below, sometimes its better to buy a new machine.

error 41 is a printhead fault. The only repair is a new printhead. The price went up this year so a new one will cost you at least $89.00 plus labor.

unplug all the connections and reconnect everything back.also checkout for any blocked paper or any paper jam.also remove and check out the cartridges from the printer and reinsert.either its the internal circuit failure error and has to be repaired to make it proper. thanks.

I had the same problem with a Brother MFC3420C after replacing the print head with a new one the same error 41 occured 4 weeks later.

I finally fixed the problem (see photo's) and sent the parts back to Brother :-)

Don't buy Brother Inkjet technology its all ****!.

Their laser technology seems to be much more robust and reliable, have had a Brother HL-1440 since 2004 and its still running well.

41 error for Brother generally means a printhead.  If I remember right, there should be two black springs on either side of the printhead (the thing that holds all the ink cartridges).  Take the cartridges out, unhook the springs, and pull the printhead out.

Clean it as well as you can with a damp cloth...especially where the ink squirts on to the paper.

If you put it back together and still get an error, you'll need a new printhead.  Let me know if you need the part number.

unfortanatly error 41 means that the printer head needs to be replaced. Got this from the horses mouth. I called the internnational tele # at 1-800-284-4329 and they told me you would need to take in the machine to have this repaired. You can look in your book for a # to find a servicer or go to http://www.brother.com Good Luck
