Question about SanDisk Sansa E280 MP3 Player

Didn't expect this

I was charging my SanDisk Sansa E280 MP3 Player on the computer and tryed to add some music on it. The player was charging for about a couple of hours. I tried to acces the Sansa folder in My Computer but realizes that the computer didn't read/recognize the USB Hardware. I pluged it out and tried on more time to make it work but there was still no response from the computer than its reading the USB. I tried one more time and when I pluged the mp3 out it just froze. At first i could see the background of the mp3 faintly, like the music submenu... But soon the screen went dark and it was just glowing. It's still glowing for like an hour now... I used the mp3 player before on the same computer and everything was fine. How can I unfreeze the mp3? Thanks a lot, Branko Serbia

Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. This will perform a hard reset. Best of Luck.

Usb not recognizedon sansa e280

Your problem is not uncommon with many mp3 players, i am assuming your using Vista?
here is a link to Sansa that helps with this problem.
But before that I would try plugging your USB cord into a port on the back of the computer and preferably a usb 2.0 port.
If this doesn't get you connected right try this page for a solution.**&p_li=&p_topview=1

Good Luck and if you need more help let me know

E280 not charging

You might have to get a new charger--But be careful. If the charger isn't made especially for the Sansa e280 there's the possibility of it messing up the mp3 player itself.

It could also be your computer's USB port. Try using a friend's computer or a different USB port perhaps and see if it works then.

My e280 sansa mp3 player is not please....

There is a problem with the device firmware can try to reset the player by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds or until it resets....the latest firmware for the e280 resolved much of the freezing issues....also there are two modes for you to use the e280 the msc and mtp.....try deleting in mtp mode....if that doenst solve it...just go to the sandisk site to get a firmware upgrade done...and that would solve the proplems..

Formated the SanDisk Sansa E280

You dragged & dropped files in recovery mode? Recovery mode is only for re-installing the firmware or formatting the device if it is unresponsive. If you are wanting to drag and drop files onto the device, the music needs to be put into the Music folder on the device. If you do not see the Music folder, you will need to enable hidden files and folders on your PC. Best of Luck. p.s. - you can add to this question this doesnt work.

When i connect to the computer, i can add songs, but the songs on it dont show up

I don't know if you've inadvertently deleted the music folder, but that's what I did, when I deleted all the folders by mistake, thank heavens for in-store warrenty, they replaced it with another one. What I noticed on my replacement is synchronizing with media player doesn't work, it creates ghost folders and thinks music is there when it isn't, I don't understand it. Solution: open two windows for my music and sansa e280 music, then just drag and drop the folders; what I noticed is that in my music the folders are named by artist, and I prefer to see them by album, but when I view them in the player, I see the albums with the tracks in the right order.
