Question about Macromedia Flash MX

I can't download Flashplayer

One time I had uninstalled my flash player so i could install flashplayer 7, when I found that Flash 7 was useless, I uninstalled it and tried to get Flash 9. It used to be where if I went to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/, and I tried to download Flash Player 9 it would just keep saying that it had an error and that I needed to try again. But this time when I go to download Flash Player 9, it will just sit there and do nothing. I even went to sleep and when I came back there was no difference. So I tried to find a different way to download Flash 9, I went to a whole lot of sites that make me get Flash 9 differently, everytime I try them out, the websites I go to just say that I still don't have Flash Player. I need a different way of getting Flash that will actually work. Can anybody help me?

Have same problem but with Adobe Flash - is permissions problem with directory c:\windows\system32\Macromed which is read-only. BUT is a system dir so M$ will not accept a property change. Does anyone know how to get around this? NOTE: I have already downloaded the SubInAcL utility, but it has no effect, even when I have exited all pgms except DOS window, AFAIK. XP 32-bit.

The problem that I had was that the system directory that Flash requires to download to (c:\windows\system32\Macromed) was read-only, and none of the Windoze utliities would allow this to be corrected (SubInAcl does not work for this apparently).

The solution I finally found was to use the Flash Developers' Site archive, download an older version, which was able to create the new Flash subdirectory; mysteriously, the new version was not able to do this.

Seems to be working now, even with sites that 'require' version 9.
(or whatever the latest is).

I'm sure that I do not know or understand some/most of the details of this install, but the solution did not seem to involve repair of the Registry, which I had done earlier in futile attempts to get up and running.

Sounds like you may have some registry errors, download a registry repair utility, such as Registry Mechanic or PC Pitstop Optimize.

1) Make sure your Adobe Flash Player is up to date,

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

[ Advise click on the small square to the left of -
Yes, install McAfee Security Scan Plus - optional
,and remove the green checkmark. THEN click on Download now ]

Be advised though, sometimes the new Adobe Flash Player download, will not automatically remove the old Adobe Flash Player version that is installed; and the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller Tool is needed.

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

Go to the bottom of this page. Under the bold subheading -
Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller - click on the blue - Tech Note.

On the following page go down to the subheading -
1. Download the uninstaller for Flash Player -
,and click on - uninstaller - in blue. (674 KB)

In the small window that comes up click on Save File.

Close all internet windows.

In the small download window that comes up next, allow the file to fully download, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.

When you are finished with the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller, close all windows, restart the computer.
Now go back to Adobe Flash Player Support, and download the new Adobe Flash Player.

2) Make sure your Java is up to date,

http://www.java.com/en/

3) Sometimes I have found, that you have to click on Pause for the video, and allow it to download for a bit, then click on Play.
