SOURCE: MAYTAG (AMANA) OVEN DOOR

I finally got my door back on, I had to wedge a butter knife in the hinge to keep it open, then I could put it back on the pins and slide the metal cover/locking thinge over it. Was a pain in the ass.

SOURCE: Can you explain how to

Aha, thanks for the clarification. So this is apparently a door between the kitchen and the dining room. It has been a few years since I was faced with the same problem, but if I recall correctly I had to stand on a ladder to get to the screws that attach the top hinge to the top of the door, then I was able to lift the door off of the lower pivot. If this doesn't do the trick, please post another reply. I may still have my old door with hardware still attached and I can go take a look at it. Good luck!

I installed the Everbilt double action spring hinge. A YouTube video said the hinge needs to be oiled; the instructions do not say so and I see no hole for oil.

While the door is opening, part of the hinge as seen from the top will remain stationary and part will rotate with the door. Between them is where you'd put a few drops of oil. There's probably a couple of places this movement occurs. However, this probably won't be necessary for years but can't do any harm, especially if they get rained on.

How does one install this hinge properly?

1. Use somebody, or some clamps to keep the angle set while you mark and install the pieces. The angle is the most crucial feature. The other measurements are secondary to this.
2. Make other measurements from the center of the hinge where it pivots, not the edge of the box. When you use the center technique, you don't need to worry about distance from the back, only distance from the top.
3. With just the distance from the top and the angle set, position the top of the hinge in it's relaxed position as out of the packaging. Don't try to stretch or compress it into place. Keep the hinge as straight and square as reasonable. The rest of the measurements don't matter.

Assuming these are regular **** hinges (like on full sized doors) as opposed to surface mount hinges (as on old style cabinets), you can try putting a paper shim behind the top hinge. This will tip the door away from the hinge just a bit.

Hi, Please don't take this the wrong way but did you install the hinges the right way? I fit bathroom suites for a living and have done this a few times wrong by putting the left hinge on the right side and vice verser. Sometimes the instructions are not very clear in explaining which side is left on the seat, as a result even though the toilet seat is closed, the springs are set backwards and are in fact in the up position. Double check the instructions once more, and just have a look on the hinges and seat because sometimes they have a small 'L' sticker on the hinge and an 'L' sticker on the seat and lid to correspond which hinge goes on which side. Hope this is of help to you.

I HAVE CHANGED BROKEN FLAP 2 MONTHS AGO BUT THE FUNCTION OF OPERATE SYSTEM AFTER CLOSE THE FLAP CANT WORK PROPERLY, SO PLEASE TELL ME WHAT CAN I DO?

Was the flap changed by a techician ?
I have played with my 1200 and thus
know the flap hinge area has two special aspects :

(a) embedded-into-hinge-on-one-side, a spring loaded mechanism, for the firm open-close action.

(b) a small circular magnet embedded within the hinge framework (this magnet working from the right location should be essential to trigger the answer-when-flip-open or disconnect-when-flip-is-closed systems).

So your problem could be due to one or both of these things not being (re)installed correctly.

Good Luck.

Dishwasher ''soft drop door'' mechanism came apart - door now drops

I had a similar issue as described by mc1bean. One day my Jenair dishwasher door just fell down. The right side spring was fine. The left side spring was still hooked into the door hinge but the cable was laying on the floor in 2 pieces. Over time it wore down and broke. I ordered just the soft drop cable. Now I could not find any installation instructions how to install the soft drop cable. After a few tries I think I got it right. Here are the instructions for hooking up the right side spring with the cable. The spring has to be hooked into the door hinge at the notch closer to the door. The end of the cable with the hook has to be hooked into the other side of the spring. The cable should lead from the bottom around the pulley up to the door hinge again. Now the other end of the cable has to be hung into the door hinge on the notch further away from the door. There is some slack, but it is not quite enough for the cable to get over the pulley when in rest position and undo itself.
I hope this helps others who have the same issue.
