Question about Dell DJ MP3 Player
I'm looking to replace the viewing screen on my dj...it is scratched and scuffed up pretty bad. where can I get parts for the dj and a service manual to disassemble it?
Ok, first you should know that the dj line is not very well made, dell skimped on many things. as far as tearing it appart... first pop the roller out with a screw driver (start at the bottom of the roller) then you pop the plastics off the ends there are eight screws total on the top and bottom. remove them. you then should unplug the battery, and slide it out the bottom. then you should be able to remove the mother board and hard drive from the shell. the screen, as far as i know is interchangeable with others from djs.
i am not a tech, just a kid with some nerdy noledge. i havent actually removed it for myself but it should work.

I don't know if the different generations are different in this aspect but the 2nd gen's case has a plastic piece over the screen. so your actual screen may not be scratched at all, you probably just need a new case
