Question about Fisher and Paykel Washing Machines
No fault occurred during its last wash cycle. Next morning went to put a load on and found that it would not turn on.. So its seems the washing machine is broken! this i know.. Im just wondering if this is likely to be a repairable problem [and worth repairing i.e. cost of electronics?motherboard? something?] or not basically. Any feedback much appreciated.
Without seeing the machine it would be impossible to say, but if you're handy you could try to trace to see if power is getting to the timer whether it be mechanical or electronic. On some mechanical timers there are contacts which are engaged when the control knob is pulled out. Bending these very carefully can sometimes restore machine operation. I'm afraid I don't know much about electronic timers.

Since your washer worked fine while in Germany and now is exhibiting this problem at your new home, you may want to double check how it was installed. I suspect you may have a problem known as "siphoning". The following link explains:
This could be a simple situation where the drain line on the washer is not installed correctly. There are minimum height and length requirments on the drain line. In addition, make sure the stand pipe you have the drain hose inserted in has a proper air gap to allow draining. All of this is explained in the link provided.
I hope this information is helpful to you. The majority of the situations arise from improper installation and is not an operaitonal problem with the washer. If, however, you double check everything and still have problems, please post back and let me know.

Usually it is the stator at fault with an LE error. I would make sure the cable between the stators windings and hall sensor are ok back to the main control board also give the wires a good tug sometimes the copper breaks inside the wiring insulation at the white connection blocks. Check to make sure theres nothing got trapped inbetween the drum and tub this can lock the drum up and give the fault. After checking all the above i would think it would either be a faulty stator or the main control board has failed. Hope this helps.

Manually move the timer to the SPIN mode and turn it on.
If nothing happens, replace the lid switch.
With a model number I could be more specific.
