Question about U-Line Icemaker
She has a full gas charge, a chemically cleaned evaporator, a new thermostat and makes a full sheet of ice but doesn't drop all until after the pump comes back on. This ends up eroding the cubes and driving me mad. Any ideas?
Did you clean and dry the unit well? It may be freezing, is the temp correct? Some else suggested spraying the tray with Pam and letting it dry. Just a thought . . .

All units made today have defrost timers to clear ice from the evaporator. Some of the ice sublimates...turns directly into humidity in the air in the box. It re-condenses in the ice tray area. It is possible that nothing is wrong other than excessive opening of the bin area or the defrost timer is running slow and staying on too long. You may also be consuming the ice too slowly. Can you either change the amount of ice in the bin by adding something to simulate part of the ice content or shut off ice production against low demand?

I just RR'd mine. Undo the three screws on the bottom of the metal piece that the ice maker sits on, then the two screws that are horizontle above the . Take of the back, withdraw the termocouple from the tube that goes through the foam, clip the wires (5) leaving enough of a pigtail to crimp a **** splice to the new ones. Withdraw the fill tube. Don't lose the clay that seals the holes through the insulation. Withdraw the ice maker by gently twisting and pulling straight out. Replace in reverse order. Getting the screws back in is a little tricky.

The cyle is stuck in the midway section. Unpluh the water supply to ice maker anf see if it will return to the fitst stage, If not we will need to look into the ice maker to see if one of the contacts is stuck. Is this a new ice maker and desighned for your refrigeratorr? Sea Breeze

Hello. Turn off the water to the ice maker. Remove the ice cubes, use a blow dryer to dry the mold and then spray the mold with PAM cooking spray. Let that dry and then turn the water to the ice maker back on. Joe
