Question about Proscan PS27500 27" TV

1 Answer

Proscan 27" tv

I pressed the power button and it starts to turn on and then it clicks off, and then it clicks back on again, thus turning itself off completely. Seems like a lot of static magnatism coming from the picture tube after it turns itself off the last time. Any suggestions?

Re: Proscan 27" tv

It is due to power supply failure. 1 check for loose contact in power supply. 2 it might be due to plug or socket loose. 3 switching circuit failure in power supply. good luck.

if you want to eliminate magnetism, you have to degauss the screen, if you don't know how to do that, here is a small guide for that:

but that strange shutting down its the transistor... so your best choice is to send it to a repairman to change the transistor..
if you try to do that for your self, you could even get shocked with the electricity contained in the tv... even if its turned off and unplugged..

My sharp tv wont turn on

I don't know if you have this problem but I had a similar problem aswell. My TV remote and my universal remote wouldn't turn on or perform any of the funtions as they should. This is what I did to fix it: 1. unplug the TV from the power outlet. 2. take the batteries out of your TV remote. 3. press the power button on the TV remote, and then press every other single button one by one from left to right (as if you were reading a book). 4. plug the power cord back in the power outlet. 5. replace the batteries in your TV remote. 6. try turning on the TV using the factory remote.
These steps, as weird as they sound, worked just fine for me. My TV is now responding to my remote and my cable remote is able to control the TV again. No, I did not loose the universal (cable) remote's TV codes. FYI. the steps mentioned above were performed using the TV native remote (factory remote). Hope this will work out for you as well. And if you are wondering how I knew this would work, well I saw the same steps on another website (sorry I can't remember which website it was) and decided to give it a try before I took the TV back to BestBuy for warranty repair...which would have taken like two weeks.

My tv will not turn on.

First of all, forget about the remote and see if the TV functions normally using the buttons on the front of the set itself. If the TV will not power on with the power button on the set itself, then something is wrong inside the TV. If the set works fine from the front buttons but no longer responds to that remote, then the remote has either gone bad or was accidently set to a different brand. In this case, look for the original book that came with the remote (or TV if it is the original remote) and follow the instructions for setting the remote back to Zenith. Try that and post your results here.
