I use this printer in a rather strange way. I make copies of my original artwork and open the machine and remove the copy before the toner has heat set. I then use this toner to transfer it to uncured clay.

Dose it do it when you use it as just a copier? I would have to say that the problem lies with in your network some where. Call your IT person.....

No. It would most likely be the opposite.
The stripes could be caused by contamination of the dev roller, fixing rollers or marks on the drum.
You could also clean the laser ****-glass.

In the front (inside body) see the sensing feeler ( a piece conected to a microswitch) is free to move.
Sometimes when pull the paper with some force, the sensor become forced in their base.
Verifie if the sensor is moviming free..
