The fuel tank vent is built into the body of the saw. There is a plug cover of the fuel tank vent valve adjustment shaft just in front of the saws handle on the right chain drive side of the saw. Seek a professional.

Were is the fuel tank vent

Which piece of equipment are you referring to.? The tank vent generally looks like a black pin pricked domed shaped cap on the fuel tank, depending of the tool. Some are vented through the fuel cap, some vent through a pipe back to the carb.

How to route fuel lines for a weed eater GHT-17 type1 carb. It has only one fuel inlet on carb, its a walbro w1221a.

It would a WT-221. You got fairly right that one is a vent line and it does feed up into the handle and is vented out thru it; although, you may to add a check valve to it. I repaired a few of these and the ones I did all leaked out of the vent line until I added an Echo line vent to the vent line.
The problem I had was that the vent line not only allowed air into the tank, it allow fuel to escape thru the vent line when the tank pressurized.

Just put new rectangular gaskets, fuel pump diaphragm, carb screen, fuel tank line and filter in the carb on a Poulan 4000 chainsaw. Still won't pump fuel. Can anyone comment? Thanks, Ray

Sounds to me like the fuel tank vent is blocked. Some saws with the fuel cap up have a small hole in the cap to let air in the tank as the fuel is pumped out. If air won't go in the fuel can't come out. Some saws have a vent hose with a filter that can plug up.

Chain saw parts list

As you do not say what machine this is i will give you generic set up,if you have a remote primer, the fuel hose with the fuel filter on in the tank goes to the fuel inlet on the carb the connection nearest to the alluminium pump cover held with a single screw, the other carb conection goes to the longer conection on the back of the primer ( suction side ) the shorter connection on the primer ( pressure side ) takes the fuel back to the tank, if the primer in on the carb itself, the hose with the filter on goes to the connection furthest away from the primer bulb, the other connection goe back to the tank, with both systems the primer pulls fuel from the carb into the bulb and dumps back to the tank

HAVE WALBRO CARB WT324 WHEN PRIMING FLOODS THE CARB NO FUEL EXITS THE FUEL VENT HOSE ANY HELP

There are two connections on the carb, one is connected to the suction side of the primer bulb, the other to the fuel pick up pipe in the tank, the idea is the primer pulls fuel from the carb, into the bulb and back into the tank, if the pipes to and from the primer are fitted round the wrong way it will try to push fuel into the carb and make it flood, so check the suction side of the primer is connected to the carb, and the tressure side is back to the tank.

Model 345 won't start. New fresh gas/oil mix. Cleaned carb with liberal applications of gumout. Removed diaphragm and inspected carb, cleaned what passages I could identify. Cleaned fuel line. The fuel...

There is a vent in the tank, it is situated on the right hand side of the tank, close to where the fuel hose exits the tank, the early vent looks like a round white pellet, the later vent is a white plug with a nipple on the top, the later vent will just pull out with long nose pliers, the early vent has to be extracted useing a self tapping screw, this of course will destroy the vent.

Have a 1980 suzuki gs550l w/o tank, got a new tank but dont know which lines go together theres four lines on the carb

there is a small port on top of the second carb on the right, that goes to the small port on the fuel petcock mounted to the tank. The main fuel supply (larger port on tank) goes to the bottom fuel supply rail with the only carb port on that rail. The upper two ports between #1 & #2 carb and between #3 & #4 carbs are vents and those hoses get plumbed down under the air cleaner, careful not to pinch the vent hoses or the bowls will not fill up with gas. This is the same for an automatic petcock or a manual one.

Troy bilt gas trimmer gas lines broke and now I'm not sure which lines go where.

The gas lines probably broke because of the ethanol-laced gasoline we have to use nowadays. It deteriorates them. If the unit has the external purge/primer bulb, the way mine did, it is not that hard. Just remember...the primer bulb "pulls" fresh fuel from the fuel tank to and thru the carb, thus pushing out any air/old fuel in the metering chamber of the carb back to the fuel tank in the return line...that said..
Fuel tank...2 lines...smaller diameter line goes directly to the carb body. There are probably 2 brass nipples on the carb. This line goes to the one on the body opposite the end of the carb with the vent-hole in the cover. This is the fuel pump end...where fresh gas enters the carb.
The larger line out of the fuel tank connects to the longer nipple on the purge/primer bulb. This is the fuel return line.
The remaining fuel line (larger diameter) goes from the vented-cover (has writing on it) end of the carb to the shorter nipple on the purge/primer bulb. This line carrys air and old fuel OUT of the carb to the bulb where it is then PUSHED back to the fuel tank via the return line...so you have a small diameter supply line to carb...an intermediate larger diameter line from the carb to the bulb and finally the larger diameter return line from the bulb BACK to the fuel tank.
Go to a small engine shop and purchase about a foot each of the 2 different diameter fuel lines needed and install those new "Tygon" fuel lines as your fuel line replacement.

Lots of fuel leaking out of fuel vent on carb. XTZ 750

Sticky float needle valve probably caused by dirt from the fuel / tank or accumulated fuel gum build up. Try tapping the float chamber. Failing that pull the float bowl off and carefully clean/ flush with carb cleaner spray.
