Question about Frigidaire FEX831CS Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer
The dryer timer doesn't advance; when I put it on 40 minutes it stays on 40 minutes the whole time it is drying clothes; the heater in the dryer works so we are still able to dry clothes...but it does not auto shut off
Good Morning Patrick, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
Let's try resetting your dryer by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn your appliance on. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, and based on the symptoms you are describing, you may have a communication error with the control board, the timer itself may not be operating correctly or a potential wiring failure. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, you may wish to reach out to an appliance expert who is best equipped to pinpoint the exact problem, which can often save you funds and a headache.

Check and make sure there is not lint build-up in the venting hose leading to outside. This will cause longer drying times and can be a fire hazard. Also, if you use the Aluminum venting hose instead of the white plastic it can cut up to 30 min. off your drying time. It is a lot safer then the white venting hose which can also be a fire hazard. Make sure all the lint is cleaned out from the inside of the dryer where the venting hose is connected. It could be a clog there. This sounds more like the problem since the clothes are actually drying but it could be a partially burnt out heating element. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Drying slow
My name is Neil and i am happy to help you and give you good advice!
It's not worth fixing if it's 10 years old or more, better off replacing it with a newer machine which will be much more efficient!

If you have checked the vent lines and the lint filter something else you can check is the air tube that connects the lint filter with the blower (behind slanted panel above washer lid). There is also a tin cover you must remove under the painted cover. There are no clamps or fasteners to hold this tube in place and a careless service man or a bad move could cause it to become misaligned. If the tube isn't tight against the blower it will **** cold air from the bottom of the machine, cutting down on the amount of hot air it pulls from the top (heater area).
I put three small kinks in the tin panel forming a triangle to make it hold pressure on the tube to keep it tight against the blower.

SOURCE: dryer will not heat-up
It is possible that your dryer isn't heating because its heating
element is defective. Heating elements are irrepairable. If yours has
ceased to function properly, you will have to replace it. Open your
dryer's cabinet and locate the heating element so that you can test it.

ABSOLUTELY! There is a plastic piece in the back that the center ball piece on the back of the drum spins in. Thats your bearing, replace it.
