Sub-titles are commonly available to be turned on/of or changed to various languages using either the equipment's menu tree, or the main menu setup, setting, options, etc. of the movie, game, or whatever you're viewing. If it's not easily found in a menu or video/viewing options (possibly audio) look for a button that is labeled 'SAP' and try that. good luck

You can enable/disable closed captioning (CC) in the initial set up procedure. What you are seeing are not sub-titles.

Cannot get rid of sub titles on the TV the button that should remove them does not do anything

Subtitles are embedded in the program material. You may be seeing closed captioning (CC) which usually is enabled/disabled as part of initial set up.

How can I stop the descriptive text talking on the television?

Google

make model descriptive text

Or try pressing buttons on the remote once. They usually toggle and people like to press them twice 'just to make sure' but the second press reactivates the feature. You can also look in the Settings menu on the television for settings for the visually impaired.

Subtitles will not remove from t/v even when subtitle button is pushed on remote control

The sub titles are being generated by your Cable box or the Sat box. Sub titles are generated from two different sources: Cable Box,Satellite Box,U-Verse Box etc.
Check the settings in those sources and make suer the sub title is turned OFF in the tv set.

Sub titles

Do you have your manuel? Hit caption on the remote control and it will say off on the screen. Then click again and select CC1. Just make sure you are watching a program that has CC. Some shows do not have that. Try a major network.
