Not sure what you mean by safety switch. If it's the switch which detects whether the dryer door is closed the easiest solution would to purchase a new switch or you could use almost any on/off switch connected to the existing wires to complete the circuit but the original switch would be the best option.

Craftsman 917-388950 How does the operator presence control work?

Under the seat, there is a button type knob that pushes on the seat safety switch plunger. To get to this switch, the seat has to be removed. There under the seat you can see the white plastic knob holding the safety switch. When you sit in the seat the,the safety switch plunger is pushed in and completes the circuit allowing the tractor to start and run. When you leave the seat the plunger for the safety switch is released and the circuit is broken and the tractor motor quits. This is one safety switch of four switches in the electrical system. Sincerely,Brad Locke

Why does the shifter stick?

You have to have your foot on the brake pedal to release the car from Park. The brake pedal switch sends a signal to release the safety lock. The shifter is adjusted to mesh with this safety lock. The switch may be broken or out of alignment and that is why the safety lock is binding. Sometimes the switch is broken or out of alignment that your brakelights will not work. Check them.

Someone needs to find out why stuff is binding.

Netural safety switch

Daewoo cars have track record for dependability in addition to solid construction. The most important part of a car's design is the safety features. Circumvent excessive risk while motoring by insuring that your car has the safety gear that you want. A vehicle's Neutral Safety Switch is located on your clutch in the case that it's a manual transmission, and on the shifter in an automatic. A broken Neutral Safety Switch can cause your vehicle to suddenly start in gear, causing vehicle damage or personal injury.

If you don't have the Neutral Safety Switch, your vehicle will fail to work. The Neutral Safety Switch is typically situated below the clutch of trucks which have a stick-shift transmission. The primary function of a Neutral Safety Switch is to stop your truck from starting when in gear. The car's Neutral Safety Switch acts as a safety feature, keeping you from starting the engine if the car is in gear. The Neutral Safety Switch is an electronic part which is essential while starting your car. Here's a link to what it look's like.

My PTO will not engage on my LT1045 Cub Cadet. I have checked the switch and the relay and they appear to be OK. Both the green and the red wires on the reverse safety switch (behind the right rear tire)...

You will have to look at the wiring diagram in the owners manual to see if the wires just switch together. If so, you can connect them together for a test to see if that is the problem. If this is the problem, I would replace the switch if it is broken. Those safety switches were put there for good reasons.

Hello, Look in your trunk for a set of buttons on the side of the carpeted trunk. There should be a switch for the air-ride and close to it is a safety switch with a push button on it. You just press the button on the safety switch and it will reset. The safety switch is called an "Inertia" switch and when you get an impact, it cuts the power to the fuel pump to prevent fires.

Once in a while the switch will trip if a door or the trunk is slammed at just the right frequency to make the safety switch work. Nothing is broken, nothing to buy, just reset the switch.

Lawn mower will not start

There can be as many as 5 safety interlock or kill switches on these machines, Check for Blade engage switch, seat switch, deck level switch, low oil switch, and transmission/clutch switches. any one of these could be open or have broken or just unhooked wires, Magneto problems are rare unless they have been burned or broken. Ignition switch may be faulty or just dirty, but more likely you are dealing with a safety switch thats not in the "run" position. I can't help you with a wireing diagram but I'm sure someone out there can.
Good Luck.

Transmission gear change

First question: Are your brake lights working? I'm fairly certain that on the Metro the brake light actuator switch is also the switch that disables the safety shift. If your brake light actuator switch doesn't work, you won't be able to shift, in other words.
Second: If the switch is working and you have brake lights, look for physical damage to the shift linkage under the vehicle. Note if it is bent, broken, has scuff marks that might indicate damage to it or such. If the shift linkage does not _appear_ broken, but you still can't shift, you should check for a broken wire or bad connection in a wire between the brake actuator switch and the shift safety at the shift lever. It's about 99% likely that one of these three things will be the solution to your problem.

Safety Interlock "Switch"

This is not the safety interlock switch. This flat bar keeps shredder paper from backfilling into the cutters. The safety interlock switch is a vertical slot on the body that a tab on the top fits into.
