Question about RCA 22LA45RQ TV
Tv has a red light. but will not turn on. I have tried the remote and the buttons. Any other things to look at? I was going to check the voltage coming out of the power supply but don't know what they should be.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I just had my Vizio which blew up and the power light stayed on and you could not turn it off on the tv you had to unplug it and then when you plug it back in same thing all over again, no picture at all , My TV made a loud pop before this happened, paid 1700 for TV and repairs were 900, bought new TV instead, never buy a Visio, there customer service totally sucks, you get a warranty and they try to screw you with an old piece of junk refurbished TV, they tried anyway, after 2 months they finally gave me my money back and I bought a totally awesome, SAMSUMG, THE WAY TO GO!! It sounds like the same deal and if it is a Visio just do a google search and see how many people it has happened to that own a visio..steve

The solution to your problem is to not buy this junk from Wal_mart in the first place. You won't find any replacement P.S. anywhere. This is consumer fraud from RCA, file a consumer fraud suit against RCA. The law says the manufacture must supply parts for at least 5 years from date of sale. Dan@DBS

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
Please post back what you find.

It is the capacitors on the power supply...take off the back of the tv and look at the mother board thing in the top left...There are "fuse" like things (capacitors) and the tops should be flat on them. If they are swollen, then it's just those that need replaced and not the whole power supply...Got ours fixed with 7 replaced for 100.00. The tv gets too hot and they "blow"... Hope this helps

It can be due to unstable DC power from the power supply due to bad caps, or bad main board (I had to replace my main board, and later on the inverter boards). You may want to think about putting money into this TV.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:
