I have a Avermedia Tvbox 9 and i cant get it to show any stations. I did the channel scan, but i still did'nt get any. I just brought it used, but it did'nt come with a manual. What am i doing...

The TVBox 9 only has an NTSC (analog) tuner. Do you have any analog stations in your area and the antenna rotated to get the signal from them. Since the remaining analog stations are low-power ones, you may need to use an amplifier if you aren't very close to the transmitter. Antennaweb.org and TVfool.com provide information on the direction of the antenna. Antennaweb is very conservative in the channel list and assumes an external antenna; so it may not list any analog stations.

If you connect a digital to analog converter box to the TVBox 9, you should be able to receive the digital channels in your area (assuming the correct antenna strength and direction). The converter boxes available with the government coupon some time ago are limited to SD outputs.

The Avermedia TVBox11 has a digital tuner and has HD output. See http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4272281&CatId=1427 for information.

The TVBox tuners are country-specific; one sold in the UK will not work in the USA.

I hope this helps.

I bought HDTV/UHF/VHF/FM INDOOR PASSIVE ANTENNA please help me to install it it is not working

Is the antenna the correct one for your environment? Do you have the antenna pointed at the stations you want to receive? Use antennaweb.org or tvfool.com to get an idea of the location and likely channels you can receive at your location. Antennaweb assumes an outdoor antenna but is very conservative in the list of channels you can receive. (These may match the limits of the indoor antenna.) TVfool lists the stations and the appropriate antenna that will likely receive each station.

Tall trees and buildings will block the signal. Get the antenna as high as possible. Move the rabbit ears and UHF loop to maximize your signal strength. Then make sure the TV is set to use the OTA tuner (ATSC for digtal stations). (That may mean changing the source in the setup menu.)

Then scan for channels. Move your antenna or parts of it and rescan or edit the channel list. (For some TVs there is a weak signal setup option that will let you manually enter the station number (including sub-channel). Then it will provide the signal strength information as you move your antenna.)

I hope this helps. An amplifier may help you bring in weak stations with enough signal strength for the tv to see them.

Can you solve the problem of loosing all digital channels overnight on the L19H01UB television. Thanks Trevor.

Every time you shut down it may have arcing that zaps the memory of DTV stations. Just turn it on again might regain the list of stations. If not then scan the stations again in setup menu.

26" ILO digital T.V . won't pick up digital signals w/digital antanae.\r\nusing air in setup

So called digital antennas are generally a gimmick. The important factor to receiving stations is the antenna position and strength relative to the incoming signal. (Digital signals are either enough for the tuner or you get "no signal".)

Look at antennaweb.org or tvfool.com to find out what stations are likely to be received in your area and the direction to rotate the antenna; plug your address in the search area. Antennaweb is very conservative in its channel list even though it assumes an external antenna. Tvfool gives a list of the channels you should get with various antennas (labelled by color). This is a standard label that will be on the antenna specs or box (at least on good antennas). Tall buildings and trees in the area can reduce the channels you receive.

Adding an amplifier may help you gain signal strength for borderline stations (or if you split the signal to several devices).

I hope this helps.

(My house has an external antenna with an amplifier/splitter. Antennaweb suggested that we'd only get the stations from ~10 miles away. We get those stations and the ones from ~30 miles away with the antenna rotated for the further stations.)

I have tried tuning in my dvd recorder in the reset menu, but after the scan process a message appears "Check aerial connection. Help, what am I doing wrong?

make sure aerial is in dvd recorder press functions move down to others press enter move down to setup and enter highlight tuning move right and down to auto setup reset and enter
tou will see a warning message move to yes and enter the dvd recorder will start tuning and a list of all the stations that been found will be displayed after that it will start to scan for analog stations( BEEN TURNED OFF) once finished
picture will be displayed
if no list was seen when tuning in digital stations then make sure dvd is digital
and to check aerial put direct in to didgtal tv and retune tv

make surre that you have your handfree pluged into your phone as this acts like an antena. then go options and self tuning, that will then search for radio stations and you will get a list of them. all you have to do when you get a list if radio stations is click on one.
