2005 Chrysler Town and Country. Noticible transmission whine when cold. Noise goes away after driving a few miles.

This may be caused due to low trany oil, check the level with engine warm and running and on level surface, these tranys are none for being bad, you may what to try a bg trany flush this may help, look up on the web about bg trany flushes, we use this machine and it does wonders, this helps alot but cant make a miracle happen, but ita helped alot of people with niose and not shifting or slipping its a 50/50 shot, hope this helps you.

Whining when i press gas

normally, the only part of your automatic transmission that will make a whining noise is the pump. it usually whines when iether the fluid is low or more commonly when the transmission oil filter is getting plugged up.

the power steering pump will also make a whining noise too.

turn the wheel all the way to the right and hold steady pressure against the stop. this puts maximum force on the power steering pump and, if the power steering pump is the one making the whine, it will change the sound of it. (usually louder).

if the trans pump is making the whine noise, it should sound different in neutral compared to drive. this test will really only work if it make the noise without the vehicle moving. if it wont do it at idle hold the rpms at 2000 or so.

if you decide the noise is coming from the transmission, and the transmission filter has not been replaced (assuming you installed a used transmission), replace the filter by removing the oil pan.

oh and also, if it is the power steering pump you should be able to make it make the whining noise while the vehicle is stationary. if it wont make noise unless its moving its not the power steering pump.

  • Hi,
  • Try these out:
  1. Balance the load
  2. Level the machine
  3. Inspect the water pump for a blockage
  4. Inspect the coupling
  5. Inspect the transmission
  6. Adjust the drive belt tension
  7. Check the motor bearings
  8. Check the drum brakes

Kenmore washer makes a whining noise

The whining noise is usually caused by the pump. Try replacing the pump. Or cleaning it out.

If no water is entering the drum, and it is not leaking out anywere, then there can be no water coming in at all, unless the pump is coming on right away and pumping the water out., check the waste outlet pipe as it is filling, and see if water is discharging from hose
One other possibility is that the belt is off and the whining niose is the motor turning on it's own with out turning the drum.
This being the case, u probably wouldn't see any water in the drum, due to the small amount that they take in.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.
