Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
My switch seems to be broken and I cannot enable the wireless internet, is there a way to go in any other way as I know some laptops also have a key function jon
Had the same problem. All I did was, if its a broadcam adapter, download the driver PLUS the utilities. Broadcam icon at the system tray allows you to enable/disable radio. Thats what the switch is, a radio. It worked for me.

I tried that on xp but to no avail. I also asked the Acer helpline who faxed me the solution (this is after I told them the switch did not work) their solution !!!!!! switch it on from the laptop switch !!!!!

I'm actually having the same problem as you jon and I'm not seeing the option for network connections in the control panel, sandrew was your recommendation limited to xp because I'm running Vista. I've looked through network and sharing and don't see the option to enable the wifi card. I did try in the device manager to disable and re-enable however that didn't do anything.
