We cannot connect the pro l7680 printer wirelessly. Connect the printer to the router via ethernet cable and connect the desktop to the router wirelessly.

Use the software that came with your printer. There is some sort of HP Admin that runs in your web browser that you can communicated with the Wireless Printer. The USB cable is use to install the drivers and software you want to use with it. Also backup in case of the wireless has issues you can still use the printer. If you're using a wireless router make sure it can see the wireless printer. But again you need to know what's the default Web Admin address and you say you know it.
So 1. open your web browser and type: http://192.168.1.2 in this example is what you would do. Your IP address will vary.
The manual or quick guide that comes with the printer should tell you want to do next.
Does it have wireless adapter card installed or just HP Jet direct card for 10/100? You might not have the wireless option installed as default. Check the connections to see what you have?

First off, did you try to recycle your printer? Turn it off and back on again. Sometimes power outages can disconnect that printer. If that doesn't work. Go to the printer and access the system network configuration on the led panel. Type in the WEP number and password again, and let it search for the connection. That should do it. Once it's connected you'll see the blue wireless indicator turn on.
Please don't forget to leave a rating.

If you click on Start, connect to and then select show all connections does your network show up? If not then I suspect your Windows Zero configuration service is not started. Goto control panel, admin, services and be sure it's started.
Are you using any type of security on the router like WPA or WEP? Look at the network settings of one that is working and be sure you are set the same on the one that does not work.
Also, if your router is using MAC filtering be sure your PC's MAC address is added to the routers list of acceptable MACs.
Try these and let me know what you find.
