Cant get on the internet when i click on google chrome icon I get "web page not avaiable"

Try using other browsers like IE or Mozilla Firefox and check if you can browse the Internet. If yes, uninstall and reinstall Google Chrome. If you can't access Internet via IE and Mozilla Firefox as well, chances are you don't have Internet connection. Contact your ISP if that's the case.

I have same issue and many of my buddies as well. There are tons topics for that on Firefox forums. We can do nothing with it for now.

Personally I removed 3.6 and installed 3.5 version since it bothered me too much.

If this problem never happened before, you may try optimizing your Internet browser by clearing the Cookies, History and Internet Files. To do this, please follow the steps below:

* For Internet Explorer:
1. Run IE > Tools > Internet Options.
2. Locate the Browsing History portion and click the Delete button.
3. Delete the Cookies, Temporary Internet Files and History
4. Click on OK > close the IE.
5. Re-open IE > try accessing your Yahoo e-mail again.

* For Mozilla Firefox:
1. Run Firefox > Tools > Clear Recent History...
2. Click the drop-down arrow > select 'Everything'
3. Click on 'Clear Now' > close the Firefox.
4. Re-open Firefox > access your Yahoo mail.

Hope this helps you resolving the problem!

Updated to AVG9. Use firefox browser. Now can't access Yahoo e-ma

Good browser, good antivirus; Yahoo is kind of disgusting the way it dumps ads out all over, and AVG probably puts things in the way of those ads some day carrying malware in Firefox.  Since IE has a different callback API, it has to work from greater distance in that case.

I recommend using a POP3 proxy service or application to access Yahoo e-mail unless you love Yahoo's interface.  In the latter case, enter a trouble ticket at AVG's site and/or forum site, and a love letter to Yahoo Mail developers, and try IE and Chrome for now.

Gmail freezes

Are you by any chance using TrendMicro Internet Security? I had that exact problem and I had to disable the TrendMicro toolbar in my browser in order to get that to stop. For some reason, Gmail does not like being monitored. This may even be true with any other major Security software like Symantec and the rest. Disable the security toolbar and it will not freeze up on you.

If you're not using a security software at all, then please advise what browser you are using. As in: IE 7, IE 8, or Firefox?

This may be caused due to the fact that not all websites are "IE8-compatible" (they were designed for earlier versions of IE). So, to browse such websites you can turn on the compatibility feature in IE8 by clicking the Compatiblity View button next to the address bar in IE8.

Problem Hotmail

I would download and install Mozilla Firefox. Then check to see if the problem still existed through Firefox. If it works through Firefox and not through IE, I would check my privacy and security setting in IE. Hotmail likes to send you cookies and you are posibly blocking them. If you try this and download FireFox DO NOT import setting from IE. Install Firefox with default settings. If it is cookie related, importing setting will only give you the same problem in Firefox.
