Restart the computer and HOLD the keys FN+f1 or f2 depend of your model and mark, and go to the BIOS setup and rename the password and fix it.

If your looking to unlock a BIOS Password, then yes, a Make & Model Number would be handy. If your looking for the Admin Password that logs you into Windows then you can use this utility to change or remove the admin password easily :

User and Administartor passwords are only for your OS.
Windows® for Example
To reset your BIOS password, you must disconnect your laptop-battery. Wait a few minutes, and put it back in. Now your BIOS password has been reset and you can access your BIOS again.
