Error message usb ports force stopped because of too much power

It will still be covered by the warranty, take it to an apple repair centre, they will have Apple hardware diagnostics software that will be able to determine the cause of the fault. Worst case scenario will be they have to replace the logic board.

If you are using some sort of USB hub the number of devices you are connecting to that single port may be drawing too much power. Try to determine how much power each device is drawing then ask at an apple store how much power the USB port can supply.

Computer sudden shut down while playing games and while scanning for virus it also shut down with notice with no error message and nothing..i have a window vista home laptop brand lg ram2gb core2duohdd 180...

Lets do some investigation here.

First, what happens when the laptop is turned back on? Are you able to turn it back on right away, or do you have to wait a bit?

When you are able to turn it back on, right click on my computer (desktop or start menu), choose Manage. On the next window, look down the left side and choose Logs, click on the plus sign next to it. There are 3 entries, System, Security, and Applications (not sure of exact names). Go through each one and see if there are some clues as to what is faulting. The entry will have a x or exclamation point.

I suspect that your laptop may be overheating. Gaming is pretty processor intensive, virus scans are disk intensive. If you are sitting your laptop on a soft surface, vs a table, then you may be restricting air flow through the cooling fan. Your cooling fan could also be choked up with pet hair, lint, and such.

Post back your findings.

Powerspec 8650. what type graphics card fits it? computer keeps shutting down while playing certain games on facebook. extra memory hasn't helped, so i think i need to upgrade my graphics card, just am not...

This card is listed for the model below yours.

Graphics Controller
  • Type AGP 4x - Plug-in card
  • Graphics Processor / Vendor NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 200

  • I would be looking for other causes of shut down such as overheating.
Check that all fans are working and clean. Ensure all case openings / grilles are also clear.

If you want to upgrade the vid card you can only get one with AGP 4X
NOT 8X which most are now.

    Abnormal shutdown

This could be a hardware fault. Your power button could possibly be getting stuck whe you turn it on. This message only comes up when you maually hit the power button on the laptop. When it comes up again, try pushing the power button quickly to loosen it up, then hit cancel and wait to see if it happens again. If it does you will have to get your power button looked at.

    Laptop starts then shuts down

As soon as you power up keep pressing F8 to get into safe mode. You will see a black screen with various options, go to Safe mode with networking, and see if your laptop stays on. If it does you should be able to go to the manufacturer web site and download latest graphic drivers, as this may be the problem. Download, then uninstal current graphics driver from add/remove programmes. Re-boot your pc and when it finds your graphics again ensure that you point windows to install the down loaded driver and not a generic driver. If you were not able to get this far, then a possible processor or motherboard failure is the answer; taking to a qualified repairer is recommended.
