Camera will not work with sd card

The camera works great without a SD card. As soon as you put a card in and turn it on the camera will lockup. When we try to set up the camera none of the buttons will work.

Re: Camera will not work with sd card

Had the same problem, blew out the card slot with air and fixed it. Apparently poor contact points with the card.

Re: Camera will not work with sd card

The problem is with the card lock reading pin on the PC board. Sometimes the contact isn't good, so it brings the card locked message. You need to open the camera up and play with the contact pin so it make permanent contact with the casing. This way, it will always see an unlocked card. Make sur you don't put in a locked card!

Re: Camera will not work with sd card

I don't have this brand of camera, but my experience has been that you may need to format or re-format your sd card.  ez

When i put my sd card in my camera wont turn on

The PDR-3300 works with MMC and SD cards. Your new 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work in the camera. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Camera locks up with SD card

Put the SD memory card into an USB card reader and plug the card reader into the USB port of a working computer to check if the memory card is working.
If the computer cannot detect the memory card as an external storage device and cannot open the files or folders and it cannot be formatted in FAT32 then the SD memory card is faulty and needs to be replaced..

My camera works without my microsd card in as soon as i put it in it wont do anything

Please try another sd card, if the problem persists the sd card slot /reader is faulty and causing the camera to lock up. If the problem goes away with another card, theres a problem with your old card.

I have a samsung digmax s600 i works fine without the sd card inserted but when i insert the sd card the camara wont turn on

Be sure you have a standard SD card to put into this camera, not a SDHC type.
You will be limited to a maximum of 2GB with SD, but it should work perfectly.
If not, check the SD card in a notebook or PC's cardreader and/or replace the
SD card with another one. If this does not work the SD card interface in the
camera may be defective.

The Optio S4 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible. You need to go with cards 2GB and smaller.

The Samsung S730 digital camera will work with 2Gb Secure Digital (SD) cards without an issue. If you want to go with a higher capacity card you can also use 4Gb and 8Gb SDHC cards.

Hope this helps

Canon Power Shot A400 will only work with original Canon SD card

Make sure you are using an SD card and not an SDHC card. The SDHC protocol is newer than your camera, and your camera does not support it. SD cards have capacities up to 2 GB. Your camera should work properly with any SD or MMC card.

SD card problem

Format the SD card using camera's format function. The SD card should work without a problem. BTW, what do you mean by Camera type: Qv-R41/Qv-R51? The camera should be either 41 or 51. 41 is 4MP and 51 is 5MP. Which camera do you have?
