Question about Creative Labs HS-400 Headset

2 Answers

Microphone volume Everytime i try to talk to someone via internet, they hear me very very silent, almost inaudible. As if i were holding the microphone on the other side of the room. Al my settings show that my microphone volume is on highest. But when i do a test, i also can hardly hear myself, so it must be the microphone. I really don't know what else i can do?

Is it possible that you guys are both using it on a laptop with a built in mic? If so, then the laptop's mic is probably the one that is receiving sounds instead of your headset. Set your headset as the default mic.

I'm not 100% sure it's the microphone in your case, since I am experiencing the same problem right now with another microphone. I borrowed a working headset from my friend and it is not working either. My volume is up like yours and I can barely hear myself. I am updating the drivers soon and I'll let you know if that fixes it.

Where is speaker on alcatel cell phone?

? Microphone? For the other person to hear you the microphone on the phone must work. You cannot adjust that. For you to hear them you need a speaker on your phone. You can adjust the volume of the speaker on your phone. If callers cannot hear you try putting your phone on the speaker, rather than handset mode so it becomes a speaker phone. Then, while talking to someone to test the phone, try holding it in different ways to see if you are covering the microphone with your fingers. Without knowing what model of phone (specifically) you have I can't figure out where these are located on your phone. You can google the model though and locate them yourself easily.

I have a Parrot CK3200 LS-COLOR and when I make a call I can hear the person that I am calling but they cannot hear me! Any suggestions what could be the problem.

First, you will have to check if the microphone does not have a trouble.

Try to make a crossing, you call someone and you move the place of the microphone to get an idea if the trouble is still existing.

check the volume of the microphone into the menu of the kit to ensure via increasing the volume sound.

what combination of products do you have?

please inform cause it helps to find out.

Make sure the volume for your microphone is turned on. Here's how:
  1. Click the 'Start' menu in your taskbar, and highlight 'Settings.'
  2. Select 'Control Panel.'
  3. Locate 'Sounds and Audio Devices' in the Control Panel, and double-click the icon.
  4. Open the 'Volume' tab, and click 'Advanced...' in the 'Device volume' section.
  5. Look for 'Microphone' in the 'Volume Control' box that opens, and make sure your microphone is enabled and the volume is high enough.
  6. Close the 'Volume Control' box, and then click 'OK.'
If you're using an external microphone, and the volume is set properly, check that the device is securely connected to your computer.
And if that doesn't solve the problem, make sure your microphone of choice is selected in the 'Output - speakers or headset' drop-down menu in the 'Audio' section of your Google Talk Settings.

Cheers!!

I'm on Skype, and the person I'm talking to cannot hear me. They can hear feedback sounds from their computer and their voice, but can't hear me talk. This a Toshiba with a built in video camera and...

The problem seems to be with your friend's setup, and possibly yours. Try adjusting mic levels and volume levels to where they don't interfere with each other. Ex.--you talk , they hear you at a volume that is too loud and it gets into their mic, creating a loop....feedback. You do the same too. Trial and error. Hope this is helpful.

Can not hear when phone rings or hear person talking

it looks as if your phone as been placed on "silent mode" and also the the the volume decreased.
since i do not know the type of phone you are using i would advice that you try holding down on the * or # (this is because soe phones have been configured to switch to that silent mode when you hold down on that button)
look for a small bell button on any of those keys.
now for the volume aspect try calling someone then press the volume key to increase the sound.
do let me know the out come.

Unable to hear own voice via microphone, I can hear sound

For you to comunicate through Skype, you don't normally need to hear your voice when you talk. But if you want to you can.

Try to double click your speaker icon from the lower right side of your screen ( where you can find the system clock). A window will open and will show you several volume controls. From that window click the File and go to properties. From there put a check on the box beside the microphone. click Apply and Ok. Click the File menu again and this time put click Advance Controls. A clickable Advance menu will come out at the bottom of your Mic Volume control. Click it and enable the Mic Boost. Click Ok and then uncheck the mute box from the Mixer Window. You should be able to hear your voice or a strong feedback from your speakers.

Hope this Helps.
If it does, Please vote. Thanks!

Microphone problem

If the speaker icon is in your system tray (next to your clock), then you can right click on it, then "Open Volume Control" and make sure your Microphone volume is up and that the mute (under microphone) check box is unchecked. If the icon is not there, you will have to check the box to show it in Control Panel > sounds and audio devices... You may have to go to options, then click on advanced controls to adjust the mic..
If that doesn't do it? You could update your audio driver.
Good luck.
