OK, I bought my 360 about 3 yrs ago. and when I first bought it I noticed that the dvd drive got stuck a few times. I would have to continuously tap the front of the drive to get it to open. Well, don't ask me why I didn't take it back while I could--figured the problem wasn't that big of a deal. Well now it gets stuck ALL the time, and not only that but sometimes it won't shut unless I push it. Also, don't know if this is related, but it's always saying "Disc Error, need to clean, blah blah blah..." when it's a brand new game--and it'll do that randomly in the middle of my gameplay. Any suggestions???

Sounds like the mechanism is abit jammed inside (can be due to dust or lack of grease, or purely has become mis aligned.
Also, your laser seems to be wearing our, this can be serviced or replaced. - Fully guaranteed for 12 months.

Try using a lens cleaning disc. Three years of use means there's some dust in the drive. As for the tray getting stuck it sounds like a mechanical fault from the manufacturer. If I had bought that console it would have been returned with in the week. One way to get around some of these issues is to update to the "New Xbox Experience" instead of the blades system. This allows you to fully install games to the hardrive. The disc still needs to be in the drive to prove you own the game but after its referenced the disc the first time, all the game data is pulled from the hardrive.
has failed. I had this same issue about a year ago.You will need to call the XBOX support line if your system is still within the manufacturers warranty. (1-800-4MY-XBOX) If they will be doing the repairs you will normally get your system back within 3-4 weeks.
