Can't get the phone out of vibrate mode

By tlachdga on Oct 07, 2007

I cannot get my cell phone to ring, it stays in vibrate. The only options on the screen are quiet mode, vibrate all or silent all. I have tried holding the # key down and all that does is switch between vibrate or silent.

- I already have it to set with a ring tone. It just won't go off of vibrate. Thanks anyway.

Thanks everyone.  NONE of these solutions worked so I took it back to the store.  Turned out to be defective.  I appreciate the suggestions.

I have read the manual for your Samsung SGH-d357 and you need to set the ALERT TYPE, this allows you to set the alert default. Choose from Melody, Vibrate, or Vibrate then Melody
You need to choose Melody. This will ring but not vibrate.

In case you were missing the manual it is here:-

Not the star key...use the lil phone button on the bottom right. Worked right away for us.

Try switching to general profile or edit the profile to ring with a specified tone.

- The vibrate option will also be in the profile, perhaps I can be more helpful if you specify which phone you have.
