I have a mac and it says my sansa has free space but when i Try to add music it says not enough free space

The only way to solve this is delet some files from the device, and then try and add a new file that is less size than what was deletd. If it works, then the Mac is misreporting the file size of the device or the remaining space on the Sansa storage chip. Its pretty common.

Connect to your computer copy music to a folder and save as whatever name you give it Then format Check the folder with the music in it to see if there is a file thats not MP3 delete it if there is one then replace the musicto the sansa keep about 6MB of free space

Sansa fuze,4gb, will switch on only to display message; Not enogh space for music DB Please free 90MB, how can I get over this problem? It turns on,displays the message, then goes off completely, Ron....

connect to the computer and acess the memory, delete off the unrequired files to free the cramped memory. Also do a virus scan and delete off any threats. You can also reset, check for a rear/side small hole, using a office pin to keep it pressed for 5 secs.charge you set in full Hope this will solve?

When i turn on my player its saying that i need 20mb free space,

Hey welcome to fixya. I hope u 'll be fine.
Actually the problem is occurring due to maximum memory storage. Every device needs some space to load and for working. There 'll be no no space of 20 mb in your device which is its need to working so make some free space first
  • Simply delete some useless data like (songs) from it. When there will be free space up to 20Mb then this problem 'll b solved.
If it was helpful then do Rate me and give some feed back. THANKS

My sansa clip has maxed out space and won't turn on

Sandisk has an Answers support site for the Sandisk players.
Searching for answers on the item space, links to next page:

The first answer on not enough space for musicDB will give 2 options for deleting files, see next page:

Option 1 for normally erasing files.
Deleting selected files:

Method 1: deleting files on the player itself .

Method 2: deleting files when connected to a computer
when using method 2, switching USB mode from MTP to MSC or vice versa may be needed to see the files in the folders.
Information about the problem "hidden files", see:
How to change the USB mode of the player, see:

Option 2, erasing all files on purpose or when memory is corrupted .
Formatting the device, deleting all files:

This help page shows how to perform a format of the player using
disk management. The player has to be in MSC mode when performing
this action.
How to switch to MSC mode is mentioned before, see link:

The only thing to do for this error is goto My Computer/Computer and right click on the Sansa player, choose format.  Select Quick format.  It will delete all data but at least the player will work again.

MP3 needs to refresh DataBase?

You have to many songs a sansa e 250 only holds a certain amount of space so your best bet is to buy a memory card or delete songs so you can add new ones.
