The washing machine seems to work no problem, washes, spins and empties. Yet when left for a while, I come back to open the door and it is at least half full of water. It did this once before, while still under warrenty, but stopped doing it just as I gave up trying to work out why and was about to call in an engineer.
-   I have the same problem. My washer keeps filling with water between loads. It's a big problem if I don't empty my washer as soon as the load is done as I have to re-spin the laundry.-   nmiklaucic

-   My washing machine fills up with water when not in use. It washes, drains, & spins, but then fill up again. I have taken the machine apart and cleaned everything and have no blockages or flow problems. I push drain/spin and then I am able to do a load of laundry.-   teamthompson

-   I have the same problem. The drum is filling up while the machine is switched off. I think the hot water inlet is trickling water through the soap tray even when it is not on. Can I replace the inlet valve without calling an engineer?-   Mocky
